To ask you for ideas on how to tell my DH I'm pregnant on Christmas Day?

This is clearly not an AIBU but I'm shamelessly posting because of all the traffic and because I'm excited!!

I found out two days ago that I'm pregnant and I want to find a way to tell DH on Christmas Day.

I had thought about gift wrapping a pregnancy test but now that just seems boring?

Then I thought of having a customised bauble made with the words "I'm pregnant" engraved on it for him to unwrap.

Then I thought about wearing some kind of t-shirt/jumper with a message on it to indicate I'm pregnant and see how long it takes DH to notice it...

I just don't know.

Are there any creative people out there with some good suggestions? Or maybe someone who has done it themselves and would like to share?

How lovely! I am very happy for you.
How about getting him one of those comedy books "the dad"?
Very best wishes

BurnTheBlackSuit · 12/12/2016 18:50

If I hung a bauble on the tree with a pregnancy announcement on it, I think the baby would have grown up and left home before DH noticed it Grin

I hope that you have a lovely evening OP. Congratulations.

Maybe draw a little bean on your stomach with a sharpie.

Or make him a sandwich with a piece of paper saying I'm pregnant. (Might choke though and that would be a bit crap.)

Guitar - DS has come home with a nasty bite for the 2nd day running; third bite in two days. Me and DH are just at a bit of a loss about it.

DS is settling off to sleep whilst DH pops out for an hour and then I'm going to tell him when he gets home Smile

Make an appointment to speak to staff at the nursery about the biting. If the skin is broken then best to get it looked at.

Good luck for later! 😊

Temporaryname137 · 12/12/2016 19:18

Congratulations! Do tell us what you do and how he reacts, if you feel like doing so :)

PointlessUsername · 12/12/2016 19:21

Good luck for later.

LeopardPrintSocks1 · 12/12/2016 19:24

Congratulations!

GlitteryFluff · 12/12/2016 19:26

Ah congratulations
Good luck for when you tell him Flowers

VictoriaMcdade · 12/12/2016 19:29

Congratulations! It is happy news and a Jolly Good Thing.

Just tell him, though. I think all this dicking about with wrapping up pregnancy tests, it having special presents made is cringeworthy.

You're pregnant, you're having a child together. It is a big enough thing. And it is joyful, but is is also serious and wonderful.

But I am a grumpy old soul...

StarlingMurderation · 12/12/2016 19:38

DP and I bought the test together, then I POAS, then we sat together eatching to see what the result was. Are we weird for doing it together?

StarlingMurderation · 12/12/2016 19:41

Congratulations btw OP! Your little boy is just a bit older than mine, I always notice your posts about him for some reason.

Writerwannabe83 · 12/12/2016 19:45

I always notice your posts about him for some reason.

He's famous Smile

It's such a gorgeous age isn't it! I feel so excited about giving him a sibling Smile

DH still isn't home yet - I'm getting impatient now Smile

Congratulations op lovely news! I'm glad you're telling him tonight!

I came out of the bathroom waving the sick at dh going "fucking hell what have we done... quick get me another test!". It took him a few minutes to realise it was positive 😁

user1471449040 · 12/12/2016 19:48

how about getting a newborn babygro with the words "I love my daddy" or similar for him to unwrap? Or "new in 2017"?

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 12/12/2016 19:48

Found out I was pregnant two days before DHs 30th birthday. Was going to surprise him on his birthday but I couldn't even wait that long!

So if you manage it - well done you!! And congratulations!

Moonshine86 · 12/12/2016 19:49

Christmas cracker 😁

Congrats!

ALemonyPea · 12/12/2016 19:53

Your poor DS. It's so hard when they're at the receiving end of teeth. My DS would often get bit by my niece, my sister was at a loss as to what to do to stop her, just as a was upset about it happening all the time. Hope the nursery can help stop it.

Eagerly awaiting your DH's return.

Writerwannabe83 · 12/12/2016 19:54

moonshine - I actually wrapped up two tests in tissue paper and tied ribbons around the edges and shaped it to look like a Christmas Cracker (including nice star stickers on it) but it looked shit Grin Grin

Art and crafts is not my strong point Grin

Biting is so horrible but the nicest kids can be biters, it's a strange one but hope it gets treated properly.

Good luck op.

GeekyWombat · 12/12/2016 20:12

Good luck :)

puglife1 · 12/12/2016 20:17

Ohh I'm so excited for you. Hope all goes well.

Llamallann · 12/12/2016 20:22

I'm so excited for you! Huge congratulations, what a Christmas present x

whoneedsacuppa · 12/12/2016 20:23

Why don't you add a bauble to the tree now and wait for him to spot it?

Congratulations.
