To wonder why people dislike Tess Daly so much?

I don't particularly like her. She's a bit try hard. But she's a lot better than Bruce Forsyth who I had to fast forward through.

I really don't understand why some people have such an intense dislike of her.

I think it's because she makes me feel slightly uncomfortable. As a previous poster said, her comic timing is stiff and clumsy. Newsreader sounds good.

I did love it when Rindy's grandparents tried to engage her in convo. She was also sweet with Ore's mum last night.
She does sometimes come over as patronising with slebs. I would say NONE of this to her face, mind I am not as upfront/honest as glitter, besides she might death claw grip me

Except that it is her real accent - we all speak like that around here. Hers is slightly less exagerated on the TV than for RL.

The "eeehup, right lad" that Vernon Kaye does is pure Dark Peak. He has copied her accent / phrase.

I really don't like her but for a genuine reason, a friend of mine is a producer and I saw first hand what she was like off camera years ago when she was doing children's to stuff. She was rude, obnoxious and arrogant. I've never been able to watch her again without remembering that.

Now I really like her (though I think she wears awful dresses) but am not keen on Claudia.

I read an interview with her a while ago in which she said (obv paraphrasing) that she gets given prime time presenting jobs because she is professional to the tilt and the producer/director know she can 'deliver' (her word) the show bang on time to the second.

I would agree with that, there's a huge number of balls to juggle with a show like Strictly and in hers and Claudia's hands, it runs seamlessly. So credit to her for that. But she gurns, flicks her hair and does look downright uncomfortable at the hint of anything going 'off script' so I don't find watching her easy.

I feel the same about David Walliams too.....Brrr.

I love both of them and I think they do a brilliant job. I would adopt Claudia tomorrow, she's ace! I think Tess is a good presenter and perfect for weekend live telly. Obviously being a woman she is held to much higher standards.

I'll probably be flamed for this but I like Tess. She's the natural straight man to Claudia's jokes and I think they work very well together in the show.

She's very wooden presenter - can't believe she hasn't got any better over the years!

I can't warm to women who have zero talent and ability and have got their jobs based solely on looks (also looking at Holly Willoughby).

Don't dislike her but find her dull and wooden.
She was definitely the more likeable one next to Bruce but Claudia steals the show now and Tess knows it.

Really annoys me when she says solsa when she means salsa.

I used to see Tess on the school run & her dress sense was beautiful. She always looked very, very well put together & we once had a great giggle at the size of her car compared to how much school paraphernalia she had to get into it.

Nothing like she appears to be on the screen.

She laughed at herself & had a lovely personality.

I bluddy LOVE Claudia and Tess presenting together. For a start, how often do we see two women presenting together with No.Man

And I doubt Ms Daly gets too much say over those awful dresses. There'll be a stylist - who on some weeks must be visually impaired. This weekend's dresses were better than the usual ones which make her look heavy busted and no waist.

I don't understand how out of all the TV presenters they could have chosen they chose her to present SCD. And how she's managed to keep the job so long.

I don't think she is a very good TV presenter because she has zero charisma. I don't think she could handle it if things went off script or something, and I always zip through her links as they are cringey.

Plus she doesn't pass my 'would I go to the pub with them?' sleb test.
