To be this annoyed over lipstick?

I am fully prepared to be told IABU and ridiculous but I feel really upset!

I am going out tonight and dp was in town. I can't find my favourite red lipstick so I texted dp to pick me up a new one while he was out. I told him the brand I like and said to get any red one. I often wear red lipstick.

He's come back with a pale pink one. I never wear pale pink lipstick. I asked why even though I'd asked for red and he just shrugged and said he thought I'd like it.

I feel really pissed off! Why did he not just get a red one? I couldn't have been clearer.. I feel like he never listens to me.

Maybe he doesn't like your vampy style, and wants you to go more mumsy?

Countless straight men have advised me to emphasise my eyes and opt for a nude lip. Possibly even more than the ones who have said "Yes, your bum does look big in that". .

Years ago my boyfriend accidentally broke my blusher and the next day he took himself off into town to replace it. He replaced it with blue eyeshadow.

If I wear lipstick it's only ever red, I can't bear pale coloured lipstick. Despite this, dh once bought me some make up at Christmas including a frosted pink lipstick (a la Wendy James from Transvision Vamp). When I asked him what made him buy it he said "I thought you might like to try a different colour". He's never done it again since but at least I hadn't asked him to get a red one.

I'd be miffed too because he didn't listen ... mine doesn't look at dates on food and always gets something that's on it's last day because it's nearest, so I'm pretty sure if I needed a specific colour of anything, I'd get what he sees first

I look like death without my red lippy. Thats not just my opinion its of that of my peers and my mum.
I used to love the neutral look (on others) and tried it myself. I was asked if I had concealer on my lips.
So red isn't always draining. Looking like a corpse is pretty draining

I would never ask DH to just get me a red lipstick, if I wanted one I would have to say the brand, the shade and the approx. cost so he knew he had it right. I would also have to add a comment that if he couldn't that, get nothing or I would have got a pink lipstick too.
