A relative used to live in the Cotswolds. She had this ALL the time. Eventually she moved because people would knock on her door at all hours asking to take photos. I can quite believe the OP is pissed off with it.

Pokestop?

BarbaraofSeville · 07/12/2016 06:32

We can sympathise OP but you have to give us a clue as to why people have chosen your house.

Because it's totally baffling to those of us that are not in on this latest craze as to why your house is a popular target. Or has it gone viral for some inexplicable reason? Maybe a celeb who plays the game has done your house.

Can you use any of the million fucking hashtags beloved of instagrammers for a useful purpose to see who is doing this or why?

Mypurplecaravan · 07/12/2016 06:32

Well if you don't live in the UK. Most of us are really really not going to pop round to take a photo.

Put a gate up on your front lawn. Grow a conifer hedge. Get one of those whining nose things that annoys teenagers. Close your blinds. get lahverly net curtains.

But none of that will work, it sounds like, wherever you are, you are stuck with it.

The poster that pretended to be famous probably has the right idea. Wave back!

BarbaraofSeville · 07/12/2016 06:34

There isn't a 'modified' Street sign outside your house is there. Some people like to alter them to made rude words. Eg if you tippex out bits of Buckingham Mount it can be made to read Fucking cunt.

Natsku · 07/12/2016 06:35

Its a perfect opportunity to stick up various signs in your window saying things that you want the general public to know, like "I hate instagrammers" and "I have a really nice bum"

PossumInAPearTree · 07/12/2016 06:37

I live in a Pokegym and there's people sat on the wall all hours battling. Thankfully less now than in the summer.

Fintress · 07/12/2016 06:42

Last year in Luxor I was constantly approached and asked for a selfie by excited Japanese tourists. The first time I thought it was weird but by the umpteenth time it was tiresome, my DH was practically acting as my bouncer. No clue why, I'm definitely no supermodel. We were trying to figure out if I remotely looked like some obscure celebrity Grin.

The OP lives on a street attractive to tourists people!! Historical city centre type place

As do other people.

It doesn't equal people coming to your house and photographing it in the dark!

honeylulu · 07/12/2016 06:50

Pump action water gun?

SoupDragon · 07/12/2016 06:51

I wonder why all the OPs other posts were deleted by MNHQ with a link to the talk guidelines.

Are you SURE its not just Pokemon Go?

You might be a gym or something.

FabulouslyGlamourousFerret · 07/12/2016 07:01

This is all very surreal Confused

Yeah, this is weird. Literally every single post, even the OP in threads she has started herself (why not delete the entire thread though?). Do you have form for writing abusive posts, OP?

creakyknees13 · 07/12/2016 07:02

Aha, makes sense now. Usually they just write something like 'message withdrawn at poster's request'. Ignore my previous post.

znaika · 07/12/2016 07:03

It's not the most serious problem in the world, just annoying. They woke me up. And they have us by the balls as they have the power to humiliate us on line if we ask them to sod off.

SuperPug · 07/12/2016 07:07

I don't think this is odd, as a thread.
I follow someone on Instagram (not sure why) who seems to take photos of doors, window boxes etc. in a particular set of streets in S.W. London. I've always wondered how the residents feel about that, especially when she's posing in their doorways. Confused

00100001 · 07/12/2016 07:09

Why wouldn't you just go and ask them what they're up to? Confused

PrancerForHoney · 07/12/2016 07:10

If it's in Rye. Sorry. I've been guilty of this but Mermaid Street is incredibly pretty.

IDismyname · 07/12/2016 07:12

My parents live in a very pretty village, but luckily in a very ordinary house. The number of tourists trawling through the place would drive me bananas- all days of the week, and from dawn to dusk.
Trying to just drive through it gives me the rage.
You have my sympathies, OP, but the only sensible solution would be to move.

dangerrabbit · 07/12/2016 07:13

Can't really understand the point of this thread.

OP starts a thread complaining about people taking pictures of her house then berates people for talking about it.

DramaInPyjamas · 07/12/2016 07:16

There is an Instagrammer called porthjess who takes lovely photos of houses and doors in the Bristol area - I've never even been to Bristol but I do like to look at the pics when I need cheering up
