I realise this is a very 21st century problem to have but seriously Just bog off will you (grammers not mners)
There' s been a queue of 'em today and another one now in the small hours, presumably because no passers by. BECAUSE NORMAL PEOPLE ARE ASLEEP!!.

Anyone else have these twats? Bucket of icy water? Aibu?

Let me guess. znaika is part of Russian oligarchs family, they have put outside the house a gold plated Christmas tree with bells and whistles which makes people instagram the whole thing.
She actually enjoys attention, but keeping up appearances requires her panting and pouting over the MN, so we get this weird thread here.

StrangeLookingParasite · 07/12/2016 04:07

I don't know why everyone finds this so unbelievable. Not that far from me is a little street called rue Cremieux. It has the daylights photographed out of it constantly, because it's 'cute'. A friend of a friend owns a house down there and I would imagine could say much the same.

CelestialLight · 07/12/2016 04:19

Yes but strange they are all coloured-y. We don't know why OPs house is being instagrammed because she's being all mysterious and secret squirrel about it. So as we don't all charge there immediately, d'you see?

dontbesillyhenry · 07/12/2016 04:23

This is all very 'don't look at me- im shy'

donajimena · 07/12/2016 04:25

I went to Tenby last week and photographed the houses on the harbour. There was no queue though and it was daylight.
I live in a 1970's grey pebbledash semi. Perhaps I should paint it pink? I do like having people over.

SlottedSpoon · 07/12/2016 04:30

That street is cute Strange I agree. I would photograph it too. but only if I was on holiday in the area and visited it because it was famous anyway, or if I happened to stumble across it.

But the OP has said:

'Prettyish. A particular architectural style and yes a Christmas thingy outside. But they were there in the summer. In the autumn...'

Unless she's being deliberately coy and it's actually a renowned town/village for olde worlde prettiness like the Cotswolds or Clovelly,

Or somewhere like York or the old part of Rochester where the Georgian/Dickensian charm is all piled on thick for Christmas and she lives on the street where this little public show of smug loveliness goes on.

In which case she probably knew that would be the case before she bought the place and it has to be expected.

3luckystars · 07/12/2016 04:31

Oh that street is really lovely. I don't understand what everyone is doing with all these photos. Photos used to be special, now everyone takes thousands of them, Sometimes I think about all these unseen photos stored away.

I also never understand people taking photos of 'views' while on holidays. Unless you are taking a photo of your family in front of the view, then just buy the postcard.

Of course some people are actually good photographers and print the photo, that's different.

Anyway. Back to the Topic. How can you even hear them taking photos? If they are so close that they are waking you , they can't be photographing your house, as it wouldn't fit in the lens so it must be you. Are you Donald?

SlottedSpoon · 07/12/2016 04:50

I think these days with good quality pictures from phones and the social media age where everyone is constantly starring in the movie of their own fashionable and exciting life, photos are big business. Blogs often link to Pinterest and Instagram etc don't they? I don't really get this obsession with documenting every time you fart/eat/put some lippy on and publishing it on t'interweb for ever more, but the young'uns seem to enjoy it, and sometimes make a living out of it. Confused

BusterGonad · 07/12/2016 04:51

The OP lives at 10 Brookside Close alongside Barry Grant and Mick Johno.

M0nkington · 07/12/2016 05:03

Well I've just searched #purpledoor on the Gram and can't see anything particularly speshial. #whenhumblebragsfail

Strawclutching · 07/12/2016 05:11

I was collecting eggs from our chickens this summer and someone took my photo and said 'you look so rustic '.

That was not the look I was going for Hmm

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 07/12/2016 05:19

straw 😂😂

UterusUterusGhali · 07/12/2016 05:26

I think the hashtag you want is #doortrait or #doornography, M0nk. Something like that.

Op I presume the prettiness of your home is part of why you bought it. Why not let the plebs have their fun, as they'll never be able to own a house as beyooootiful as yours.
Or turn off the lights at night. Confused

M0nkington · 07/12/2016 05:35

Oh ok! I will check now!!! I love a pretty door. #getssidetracked

WellErrr · 07/12/2016 05:43

How loud are their camera clicks!?

Jaynebxl · 07/12/2016 05:44

Dying to know how the op knows they're all putting these pics on instagram. What should I be searching for? Maybe it's happening to me and I have no idea.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 07/12/2016 05:45

The stealth boast is strong with this one.

Yep

Zoflorabore · 07/12/2016 05:55

I live around the corner from Brookside close and it has been sold to private buyers.
Remember as a teenager we used to go right up to the security gate and try and sneak a peek of the "celebs" who are now just randomly seen in Tesco.

I did once overhear someone commenting that my house looked lovely and that was enough for me, thank god they didn't see the inside mound of ironing etc.

Stick your arse out of the window op, that's what I would do.

doghairinmytea · 07/12/2016 05:58

I used to live on Fanny Street and people took pictures of my house all the time. Do you have a funny street name? Anus Avenue? Dick Drive?

znaika · 07/12/2016 06:07

Im not in the uk and not going to give the name of my road or the district as that's fairly specific. But rue cremieux is not it but similar idea. A few tourists showing their great aunt their holiday snaps - fine. A professional shot that closes the road- fine occasionally. Arsy instgrammers non stop even in the middle of the night = infuriating. They woke us up. They were loud and doing that thing where you leap up and capture an air shot. They love this. It happens several times a day. Remember the pix get seen by thousands. We have no privacy.

GreatFuckability · 07/12/2016 06:13

So, again, move?

BusterGonad · 07/12/2016 06:18

It's going to happen OP, I wouldn't move to a touristy area because it would annoy me, was it like this when you got the house? If yes then I have no sympathy, if no then it's a bummer and if it's really annoying you'll have to move.

BusterGonad · 07/12/2016 06:19

Zoflora are you serious? Wow.

BertieBotts · 07/12/2016 06:21

To be fair, I don't think this was as big a thing in past years, so OP might not have known before she moved in.

greenfolder · 07/12/2016 06:23

I think if you put something rude in the window you might just get more tbh
