To think it's shit I feel pressurised to wear a bra?

Sitting watching telly, and I can feel the constriction of me wearing a bra. I have small boobs, why do I have to sit here wearing a bra? Why can't I go about my daily business bra free - without being judged!

Bambambini - figured it was vino logic! Good on you for coming back Smile

I'd like to report that I got up this morning and, as I wasn't going out this morning, I didn't feel like putting a bra on. I'm wearing a loungewear type outfit of loose trousers, long sleeved thick jersey top and scarf, and have had the handyman round for an hour without his eyes falling out his head. And I feel super comfy.

I was just talking about this with DP the other day! Sometimes I find them so uncomfortable. I mostly wear sports bras for work now as they're so comfy and make my books look a bit smaller... sometimes bra's make them look a bit big for me! And generally don't bother at home or even going out sometimes. I'm a big fan of nipple stickers it's much more comfy!

No bras after 5.30pm for me.

FWIW I don't think you are getting the response you want because most women with bigger boobs (self included) - don't see wearing a bra as a form of societal pressure to conform, we wear Bras because its bloody uncomfortable not to!

Not because we have to.

If you don't have big boobs then you won't understand - its not societal pressure which drives me to conform to wearing a bra, its back ache, swingage (is that a word?) and general discomfort if I don't! I can;t dream of carrying out my daily activities without a bit of "ahem" support...

Does that help?

Also - Yes, YABU - don't wear a bra if you don't need one and don't want to. Doh.

If I didn't wear a bra - I would expect staring and pointing and sniggering, because my boobs are HUGE!

I fact - I would be distinctly disappointed if I were swinging free and not a soul noticed! They are lovely boobs.

AaoograhaHoa that's the point.

If I didn't wear a bra my breasts would be uncomfortable, going upstairs they bounce, the physical tugging of he skin as it stretches with a bounce verges on being painful.

If I were to run for a bus wearing no bra I would have to use one arm ( if not two to cross over my breasts and hold them securely, otherwise the action of running would pull and tug at my skin and breast tissue and actually be painful.

Nothing to do with societal pressure. If I lived alone on a desert island I would make myself a bra from whatever I could find.

I have to wear one, the weight pulls on my back otherwise. But if I didn't have to, I wouldn't bother at home for sure.

K425 · 06/12/2016 16:33

Of course there's societal pressure to wear a bra/shave your legs/shave your pits/wear make-up. Of course there's societal judgment if you don't. But you don't have to take any notice of it. Even when it's individual you don't have to.

I usually wear a bra when I'm at work, but not at weekends (though I do like a bralet). I don't usually wear make-up. The last time I shaved anything was about 20 years ago. Well. Apart from my head, in April, for charity.

K425 · 06/12/2016 16:37

Well done for having the grace to come back and apologise, Bambamini! Do as you will with your bra, but step away from the wine! Smile

Those of you going on about their massive boobs and saying yabu have no idea. There is immense pressure on small breasted women to wear bras to cover up their flat chestedness.

Society and media promotes large tits as being preferred - more sexy and womanly. Those of us with small chests are made to feel like shit tbh.

So yeah....there's pressure to wear a bra.

yeOldeTrout · 07/12/2016 09:25

I always wanted a small chest (wistful). I'm not massive (D-cup), but don't find the things useful. Very small would be Fabulous.

I only learnt from MN that most women feel as strongly about size of their boobs as men do about size about their peckers.
