Am I right to feel a bit miffed?

First time posting for a long while so please be gentle!

I don't know if I'm just being a bit miserable or what but today I promised to look after a friend's three dogs in her home while she attends an appointment in a different city.

I am here from 9-4 and I have to go to work at 5pm (work a few shifts at my local shop)

Friend offered to pay me and said she would leave the money on the table, I arrive and find a note saying sorry can't pay you but here's your bus fare home (£4)

Am I right to feel a bit used as I have given up an entire day, for free?

I still have to work 5-10pm and again in the morning 7-1, so there will be no time to do anything else or see my daughter ( she's grown up, but we are very close)

Maybe I'm just a miserable cow and I'm all for helping a friend, but I always do the helping!

As far as she is aware, you have looked after her dogs unpaid in her cold house with only dry bread to eat without even enough money for the bus fare home.

What are you going to say to her so that she knows you are really pissed off?

StStrattersOfMN · 02/12/2016 17:19

Proud of you, zukie. Really very proud, you've come a long way x

PaulDacresConscience · 02/12/2016 17:27

Well done lovely.

If she texts you then pop back on here and let us know. We'll give you some template responses!

Stripeyblanket · 02/12/2016 17:58

If she does message you ask her if she deems it acceptable to ask someone to dog sit in a house all day with just bread to eat, no heating, no payment, half your bus fare and no money to even get food if you wanted some! Prisoners get treated better than that!

zukiecat · 02/12/2016 20:01

On my break at work, haven't heard a thing from her all day except that one text in the morning

Katy07 · 02/12/2016 20:03

What stripey just said ^
Though sounds like she'll not bother now she's had her favour Hmm

SauvignonBlanche · 02/12/2016 20:09

What a cheek!

zukiecat · 02/12/2016 20:18

When I have time after work tomorrow shall I tell you all about she told police she was me (again dog related)

I'm still hurt by it a good few years on

OP posts:
StStrattersOfMN · 02/12/2016 20:41

Oh yes, that sounds v odd of her.

Pillowaddict · 02/12/2016 20:45

Please tell her you're pissed off about today. Let her see you're not going to let her walk all over you. She sounds like a cheeky cow and you at least deserve to try and speak to her about paying you for your time. As sat as she's concerned you sat in all day for hours with her dogs. That doesn't go unpaid!!

Ohdearducks · 02/12/2016 20:47

Please tell me she didn't give your personal details in order to get out of a dog related offence? Shock

AhNowTed · 02/12/2016 20:57

OP I've not commented before on this thread but she's an absolute using cow with zero thought for you whatsoever.. couldn't hold back any longer Sad

NiceFalafels · 02/12/2016 21:02

Omg! She sounds entitled

expatinscotland · 02/12/2016 21:30

zukie, if you're not able to do it, please get your daughter to block this bitch.

PickAChew · 02/12/2016 21:32

Bloody hell! You need this woman as far away from you as possible. She's no friend, zukie. It might sound horrible, but you are merely useful to her.Flowers

Cocolepew · 02/12/2016 21:43

Nice to see you back Zukie (you probably have no idea who I am but I remember you)
Well done for leaving Smile

RunRabbitRunRabbit · 02/12/2016 21:43

Seriously, ghost her.

Imagine her as a vampire or a zombie who wants to drain you. Run away! Don't stop to chat.

What's that kids song? Never smile at a crocodile...

It's nice to see you back Zukie. You won't 'know' me as I NC regularly but I know you as a long term MNer (been here since 2010 under various guises). I've noticed some regulars starting to crop up again, it's v. nice.

zukiecat · 02/12/2016 22:40

I do remember you Cocolepew Smile

The police and dog story is that about nine years ago I got a phone call from the police asking if they could come and talk to me about the incident at the beach concerning my dog

I said "What incident and what dog as I don't have and never have had a dog"

So they came round and said that my out of control dog had attacked another dog on the beach, and when the owner intervened my dog bit him too

When asked for details my name and address and phone number were given, the police officer said that the woman involved had a child of about 7/8 with her so I knew right away who had given false details to the police

The police were obviously stunned when they came round as I have cats and no dog at all, also they saw that I didn't fit the description given, and my youngest DD was about 14, and not as young as the child involved

So I told police where to find "friend" and they were most apologetic and horrified at the blatant lies

I then waited for the inevitable phone call from her, and she was annoyed at me for giving the police her details!

She said she panicked and gave them my name and address without thinking, not too panicked to think on her feet!

Didn't speak for ages after that, but I'm too forgiving and let her back in

Don't know what the outcome of that little affair was apart from hearing that that particular dog had been "removed"

OP posts:
Soubriquet · 02/12/2016 22:42

She's had two chances. Don't give her a 3rd

Ohdearducks · 02/12/2016 22:50

I knew it! Why is this awful bitch in your life still?! What an utter cunt thing to do! I'd be raging if my friend did that to me and had the police at my door! If only the police charged her with providing false info and perverting the course of justice I'd have laughed my arse off.

ohfourfoxache · 02/12/2016 22:58

Zukie Shock

Fucking hell sweetheart, you know what you need to do, don't you?

MoonfaceAndSilky · 02/12/2016 23:07

Oh my God, what a complete bitch. She is NOT your friend.
Please get this horrible horrible person out of your life, you are so much better than this.

expatinscotland · 02/12/2016 23:15

Fuck her off, zukie. You keep letting her back in and she keeps fucking you over.
