... well it's been a busy last weekend making sure everything's perfect for the official start of Christmas in 4 days, Grin, but the tree' now up and decorated, last minute presents wrapped, cards written and ready to be posted, chest freezers all full to the brim with festive goodies, Christmas bedding on, food order done, my 6 secret santas sorted! I can now relax with mulled wine in front of the fire and my DH can get his DW back! - Each year it gets more manic but this year's been worse than I can remember despite it feeling like it's taken over my life since the kids went back in September!

Ps - I imagine you'd be less bored with Christmas by Boxing Day if you hadn't been pretending for six weeks prior!

TwinkleTwinkleLittleBat · 27/11/2016 21:22

Have you got your sprouts on yet?
Grin

Ah, fuck! The bastarding sprouts!!!

I've forgotten to put them on Sad

It's too late, isn't it? They'll never be cooked by the 25th now.

Christmas. Ruined.

therootoftheroot · 27/11/2016 21:25

this is a joke isn't it?
you are taking the piss out of all the people talking about their trees etc yes?

BippityBoppityBullshit · 27/11/2016 21:26

I've pretty much finished my Xmas shopping - and will be done by the end of this week BUT in my defence I run my own business online and these 4 weeks are the busiest in my year so i just don't have time to go shopping in December - I'm too busy making and posting stuff for you 'last-minute-lucy's Grin

Tree isn't up yet though - I like a real one and it stays up until the twelfth night of christmas as is well and proper (plus at least then i get to enjoy it)

Just to send you all into a tailspin I had the Christmas decorations out in April for a photoshoot for Christmas products Grin

ENormaSnob · 27/11/2016 21:27

Your bedding will be rank by xmas eve.

OldRosesDoomed · 27/11/2016 21:32
Grin

Why have the tree up for long enough to dust the baubles? It was as advent Sunday today

Have done the present shopping mostly
Thinking about card labels
Presents all done for DH's employees (67)
Trees ordered for 15th --and that's too early.
Drinks party here 11th
Mother, SF and great aunt for Xmas meal 18th -overnight
MIL and DH's uncle arrive 21st
Finish work 22nd
Heavy shop booked for 23rd
Holiday booked for Feb half term
Apart from that it's a bleddy shambles
So, DFOD. There's a lamb x

questioningitall · 27/11/2016 21:33

Sorry. You put your Christmas tree up in November!! And take all decorations down on Boxing Day!?!? So you don't have them up for the 12 days of Christmas? That's a whole heap of wrong way round!!

BravingSpring · 27/11/2016 21:36

How can Christmas prep take over your life for 3 months? What do you do the rest of the year?

ssd · 27/11/2016 21:37

a neighbour has just put up her decs and tree and all her outside lights, it looks lovely in the dark!

Mulberry72 · 27/11/2016 21:38

We have Christmas bedding (runs for cover), it doesn't go on the beds until the 23rd December mind you, and it is quite tasteful (IMO)

Floggingmolly · 27/11/2016 21:43

Nobody with any sort of life "shops (for Christmas) throughout the year" Hmm Why would you??

Bananabread123 · 27/11/2016 21:43

QuoteMeYouFuckers · 27/11/2016 21:45

We've bought all the kids' presents (thanks, Amazon). They just need wrapping. We don't buy for anyone else.

We'll do cards in a couple of weeks.

I'm dreading putting the tree up so it will get done in a fortnight or so.

We're not bothering with food, apart from our usual weekly stuff, 'cos we're off to my mam's.

Xmas bedding? Madness!

SoftSheen · 27/11/2016 21:45

Six secret Santas...? Hmm Grin

Sparklingbrook · 27/11/2016 21:46

Oh. Confused

clary · 27/11/2016 21:47

Ehhhh? Last-minute presents sorted? Don't reckon I've done the first-minute ones Grin

Our tree (yet to be bought) goes up about Dec 16; I will do a big Amazon etc order in a week or so; have today gone to B&M to bag bargain selection boxes etc but lots more to buy.

You have reminded me to order the bird tho so that's good :)

Is your DH father christmas or something? ROFL at this

I too am worried about the Christmas bedding being icky by errr, Christmas!

Bobsmum02 · 27/11/2016 21:48

Well you've pissed on my parade....I was so smug thinking I was doing well having wrapped 5 presents today!!

As for my tree, it's where it belongs in November, in my loft!!

baconandeggies · 27/11/2016 21:48

Oh thank god op!

ghostyslovesheets · 27/11/2016 21:48

nope - I have present shopped

the rest waits until December

I have never owned a 'Christmas bedding set' in my LIFE

BakeOffBiscuits · 27/11/2016 21:50

I just checked the date because I thought it was either April 1st or Dec 24th.

You're very funny op 🎄🎄🎄
