... well it's been a busy last weekend making sure everything's perfect for the official start of Christmas in 4 days, Grin, but the tree' now up and decorated, last minute presents wrapped, cards written and ready to be posted, chest freezers all full to the brim with festive goodies, Christmas bedding on, food order done, my 6 secret santas sorted! I can now relax with mulled wine in front of the fire and my DH can get his DW back! - Each year it gets more manic but this year's been worse than I can remember despite it feeling like it's taken over my life since the kids went back in September!

I don't start feeling christmassy until at least the first weekend in December. A work colleague has her tree up and all presents bought and wrapped. She's the type to just 'get things done'. Everyone is different.

I do buy stuff in sales throughout the year to save money but we still have a birthday to sort before the end of the month.

Grin at Boundaries

Seriously OP - am as much of a Christmas fan as any Christmas fanatic but come on!

KondosSecretJunkRoom · 27/11/2016 20:52

I'm just putting the finishing touches on my Pinterest worthy Easter table decorations...keep up OP.

JemimaMuddledUp · 27/11/2016 20:52

Well I went to church and the advent candle was lit, so yes today is the start of advent. Not the start of Christmas though. Still around 3 weeks until the tree goes up in our house. Haven't started writing cards, although I will write the ones that need posting abroad this week. Have bought 75% of the presents but haven't started wrapping.

So pretty much on track for the end of November.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 27/11/2016 20:54

Champagneformyrealfriends · 27/11/2016 21:01

This is a joke. It's got to be a joke.

dementedma · 27/11/2016 21:04

Well I must confess my presents are bought and wrapped too! But I have 3 dcs to buy for plus a Christmas birthday, so need to start early to spread the cost

TheWitTank · 27/11/2016 21:04

I actually had a momentary panic thinking I had somehow skipped past a three weeks...
Last minute presents? I haven't fucking got ANY yet.

Bananabread123 · 27/11/2016 21:05

Lots of bitching on here... it's not my fault I'm organised! And there's me thinking I was behind this year... seen various threads about people with trees up a fortnight ago and assumed I was behind!

I agree, Christmas does drag on... ready for St Vals and all that by the day itself. Decorations always down on Boxing Day

NoCapes · 27/11/2016 21:07

birdybirdywoofwoof · 27/11/2016 21:07

How could you be thinking you were behind?

Thats bizarre- it's November!

Sparklingbrook · 27/11/2016 21:08

No, OP you are most definitely not behind.

You had best go and check the sprouts aren't boiling over or something....

GinAndOnIt · 27/11/2016 21:09

I just read the OP out to DP. I didn't get a pleasant reply.

Crunchymum · 27/11/2016 21:10

St Vals

What the actual fuck.

jelliebelly · 27/11/2016 21:11

Nobody is that organised in real life!

Sparklingbrook · 27/11/2016 21:11

DH's response was '6 Secret Santas?' and asking how many chest freezers there were.

ssd · 27/11/2016 21:12

op, I feel you're wishing your life away

life in the moment a bit more, enjoy the day etc etc

birdybirdywoofwoof · 27/11/2016 21:13

I love that 'last minute' means 'four weeks in advance'

Make sure you've got the Easter Bunny bedding in stock so you can put that on when you whip the manky Christmas bedding off on Boxing Day

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 27/11/2016 21:19

No, no bitching. Just a November reality check for you. You must have a lot of time on your hands!
