Man in the ladies loos AIBU?

First apologies for typos or spelling errors I am on my phone.

I am currently at an even where 95% of the attendees are men. I just went to the ladies and saw a man coming out of the cubicle. I told him politely he should not have been in there. His response was "Fuck of love".

I am annoyed he was in the ladies in the first place but raging he felt he could speak to me like that! AIBU to think that men shouldn't go into the ladies loos?!

I'm not normalising it. I'm saying there has to be exceptions.

thetemptationofchocolate · 09/11/2016 09:58

Rosegold asked: Sorry - what do you mean wash out their sanitary protection?

I'm guessing the poster who mentioned washing out meant using a Mooncup.

PurpleDaisies · 09/11/2016 09:58

Why do there have to be exceptions?

honkinghaddock · 09/11/2016 09:59

Female carer with adult male. No unisex toilet.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/11/2016 10:00

Why do there have to be exceptions

I presume because mens' needs trump womens' needs

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/11/2016 10:00

Female carer with adult male. No unisex toilet

Why not use the mens?

honkinghaddock · 09/11/2016 10:02

You are expecting a female in a vulnerable position to use the men's.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/11/2016 10:05

You are expecting potentially several women in a vulnerable position to allow a man to use their space.

ZoeTurtle · 09/11/2016 10:10

Female carer with adult male. No unisex toilet

They use the men's.

honkinghaddock · 09/11/2016 10:13

Yes because I would expect them to have compassion for someone with such severe learning difficulties that they are too vulnerable to be left alone and for that persons female carer who should be able to do the caring without fear of wetting herself.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/11/2016 10:14

honking Why can't the both use the men's?

ZoeTurtle · 09/11/2016 10:15

I think most people would understand that. But by taking him into the men's toilets, that woman could care for him and not wet herself without causing distress and fear to all the women in the ladies'. It's the most reasonable solution.

honkinghaddock · 09/11/2016 10:15

How easy it is to know you will never be in that position.

Kit30 · 09/11/2016 10:16

Warning: sexist comment.
The day that men realise that the toilet fairy isn't real is the day I'll be happy to share public loos with them. Until then let them mess up their own space

ZoeTurtle · 09/11/2016 10:18

How easy it is to know you will never be in that position.

What do you know about any other poster here? Get off your high horse.

honkinghaddock · 09/11/2016 10:19

And people said Toffee lacked compassion.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/11/2016 10:20

Honking I will ask again. In your scenario an adult male and an adult female need to go to a toilet together. Why do you insist that it has to be the womens toilet rather than the men's?

ZoeTurtle · 09/11/2016 10:21

You do as well - you clearly understand that women are in a "vulnerable position" and yet you want to put a man in their space. Wtf.

honkinghaddock · 09/11/2016 10:21

Well any other poster who is in that position can always disagree.

ZoeTurtle · 09/11/2016 10:23

I care for an adult male. I take him into the men's.

You know that thing about assuming making an ass of you? It's true.

honkinghaddock · 09/11/2016 10:23

Because as a female she should be able to use the toilet that is appropriate for her sex.

honkinghaddock · 09/11/2016 10:25

Thats your choice. I choose differently and will continue to do so.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/11/2016 10:25

Because as a female she should be able to use the toilet that is appropriate for her sex.

But one of them has to use the toilet that is inappropriate for their sex. Why the insistence that it should be the man that goes into the womens?

ZoeTurtle · 09/11/2016 10:26

You'll continue to disregard the feelings of vulnerable women and act like that's something to be proud of. I don't get it. Confused

Feel free to apologise for your assumption, by the way.

PurpleDaisies · 09/11/2016 10:29

But one of them has to use the toilet that is inappropriate for their sex. Why the insistence that it should be the man that goes into the womens?

Exactly.
