To think it's taking the piss for a bloke on remand accused of double rape to decide he is a woman?

hey please say what you think has been transphobic in this discussion?

PoldarksBreeches · 29/10/2016 20:33

Where is the transphobia on this thread?

HandbagCrab · 29/10/2016 20:46

I don't go in for gender roles but for transgender to make any kind of logical sense then as a basis, stereotypical gender roles must be accepted surely. Stereotypically females are seen as caring, kind, nurturing, non-violent etc etc. I don't see how commiting violent sexual assaults on women fits with someone who wants to live as a stereotypical woman that just happens to have a penis.

TalkingintheDark · 29/10/2016 20:47

I realise you like to think you occupy the moral high ground here Hey, but just because you think something doesn't make it true.

You are actually siding with the bullies and the abusers in this debate, which I'm sure is not something you actively want to do, but you're doing it nonetheless.

You could educate yourself, you could have the courage to question the bullshit you've been fed and the internalised misogyny that's clearly at the root of your obstinate denial on this issue.

Or you could keep supporting a movement [the TRA movement, not all trans people] that fears and despises women and girls, and in this instance is enabling a rapist to get his kicks from sexually dominating women.

But don't fucking presume to judge others who do have a moral compass and the integrity to go with it. You are the the bigot here.

Inertia · 29/10/2016 20:55

Apparently it's now transphobic if we object to forcing women to be locked up with biological men who have been convicted of / charged with rape.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 29/10/2016 21:04

hey wont tell us what is transphobic on this thread

Just likes to bandy the word round

shinynewusername · 29/10/2016 21:29

Transphobia means not complying with everything that TRAs want without question.

merrymouse · 29/10/2016 21:33

hey, how do you realise you are a woman if not by the fact of physical evidence?

venusinscorpio · 29/10/2016 22:39

Hey, by whose arbitrary standards would this person be scum as you have laid out? Who gets to decide who is trans?

TalkingintheDark · 29/10/2016 23:40

QueenArse that's a great link you shared upthread. Your friend sounds really sane and honest, it's good to read their experience, and see that transwomen can go through that whole trans TRA factory and still question it and come out the other side. Interesting that they now identify (he now identifies...?) as a gender non-conforming man. Like I say, sane and honest.

And worth a read for you, Hey, if you want to understand more - or would you join the bigots in calling this person "truscum" and saying that they too are transphobic, despite their lived experience of being a transwoman?

It always amazes me when I see blogs by gender-critical TW, with links to blogs by other gender-critical TW, all the blogs liked and shared by lots of people, how competely unrepresented their voice is in today's political climate. There seem to be so many of them - and yet they, like gender-critical feminists, are being shut down and silenced by the dominant TRA group.

And it's the dominant TRA group who are setting the agenda on trans issues even though there are clearly significant numbers of trans people who don't think like them at all, don't want the same things at all.

Just really stupefying how one group can take control like this and contaminate the discourse, and set up a dynamic where they make it look like everybody who disagrees with them is the enemy of progress and liberalism, while actually they are the ones who are the enemies of freedom and equality.

FloraFox · 30/10/2016 11:03

Talking one reason we don't hear from MTTs who don't toe the TRA party line is because TRAs refuse to appear with them where there is a discussion on TV. I think it was Paris Lees who cancelled a discussion on Newsnight because Miranda Yardley was also going to be on.

WankingMonkey · 01/11/2016 13:13

Solitary for anyone who feels they would be unsafe among members of their own sex. Personally I could go for those who have has full SRS being with the sex they are trying to be...but I doubt this would please the women who they are to be locked up with so it has to be about birth sex really..or solitary if you would be unsafe.

Prisons are separated by sex, not gender. As is every other area where 'm en' are separated from 'women'. Its never been about 'gender' at all as people know. Especially when the only definition of gender seems to be a 'feeling'.

This guy is a fucking idiot and I do not think he is 'trans' in any way. However, we don't know who is 'genuine' and who is not as there is no way to tell Therefor black and white rules have to be applied for the safety of people involved. Unless someone can teach me how to tell violent pretenders from 'real' trans people?

MidniteScribbler · 02/11/2016 08:30

Male vagina? Female penis?

Fuck off. You either have a penis or a vagina.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 02/11/2016 09:12

Absolutely about birth sex. I don't buy the argument that castrated men of any shape or form should be housed with vulnerable women. This just buys into the myth that rape and other sex crimes are about desire / need for sex. Actually, as we learnt in the second wave, and hopefully have not forgotten, they are about hatred of women and a desire for power over women. Born male rapists in women's prisons would simply use something else to penetrate a woman if his dick was not available. I remember this being a clear argument against the castration of rapists, in fact. A distinguished Professor of sex crimes came to the class and explained that this might sound like a good idea, but because rape was not about sexual desire, it was likely that the next time they would use a knife.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 02/11/2016 09:15

I'm pretty sure I read of a case of this.

I think it was Richard Masbruch

Redrocketship · 02/11/2016 21:41

^Yep, that's the one. And Noel Crompton hall in Australia. Raped multiple inmates after being transferred to a female prison and got one of them pregnant. Horrific

Amalfimamma · 02/11/2016 23:25

Redrocketship

Holy fuck I missed him!
