Whilst I'm sure Leavers will undoubtedly think AIBU the last thread filled up so here's another 1000 opportunities to discuss what you think about where Brexit is heading.

To continue to wonder who is happy with where Brexit is heading
Peregrina · 31/10/2016 12:25

So we will end up spending a lot of money to have a worse deal.. and meanwhile the if the current Government gets back in the regions which voted Leave will still be neglected... Who will they blame next time?

Bearbehind · 31/10/2016 12:29

Has anyone got the energy for another thread? I'm not sure I have.

OP posts:
Peregrina · 31/10/2016 12:34

It's probably not necessary to have a new thread. Most Remainers are fed up and think the situation is a total shambles. Leavers are going La La La - it's all wonderful, so are happy. What more is to be said?

Bearbehind · 31/10/2016 12:39

That's pretty much where I've got to with it peregrina

It's the same old shite being peddled about our 'glorious' future.

It sould destryoingly pointless to keep listening to it.

OP posts:
MagikarpetRide · 31/10/2016 12:40

If you don't, then thank you for this bear. I've learned a lot from these threads, not all of it good but learning is learning.

twofingerstoGideon · 31/10/2016 13:14

Who will they blame next time?
Remainers, probably, for 'talking down economy/other thing that has turned to shit'

Bearbehind · 31/10/2016 13:20

I think you're probably right twofingers. I was Shock that olympia genuinely thinks we'll get through this financial uncertainty with a bit of goodwill and positivity from Remainers.

You actually couldn't make it up. You really do have to read some of these comments with your own eyes to realise anyone would even think that way.

OP posts:
MagikarpetRide · 31/10/2016 13:37

Maybe they should get on with locking us in the Tower like the Express suggested then. You wouldn't want the economy faltering because not everyone believes in unicorns and rainbows. There is room in the Tower for all 16m voters and who ever the hell else couldn't vote but wants to join our cause and the immigrants, right? Or am I talking the Tower down now? Grin

twofingerstoGideon · 31/10/2016 13:48

Unfortunately, one man's 'financial uncertainty' is another man's 'straw that breaks the camel's back'. I think some people are going to find it very hard to weather the storm.

Bearbehind · 31/10/2016 13:59

I agree twofingers which is why I was so fed up on Saturday that no one would actually answer the question about how the poorest would get through in the short term- you can only push people so far but those Leavers who won't be affected by it seem to think if they pretend it's not happening it'll magically go away.

Bearbehind · 31/10/2016 19:27

Yay, we have the worlds worst performing currency this month and Carney is bailing out too.

It's not exactly going swimmingly is it?

OP posts:
Hawaiiisalongwayaway · 31/10/2016 19:35

Yes thank you Bear and (most) of the other contributors, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread every day and will be a bit sad to see it go but hey we have the US elections in a week or so and gawd help us all if the orange Bond villain gets in.....Brexit will only be the second most laughed at decision in the Western world this year which would be a tiny consolation.

Hawaiiisalongwayaway · 31/10/2016 19:39

omg I was about to contradict you Bear and say that I think Mark Carney was staying for the full term but have just looked at BBC news and see is stepping down in 2019. I feel quite bereft, he was my only hope in all this dreadful mess - really gutted.

MagikarpetRide · 31/10/2016 19:46

Carney is stepping down? He was the only fucking one with a fucking plan for fucks sake. Fuck fuck fuck fuckity fuck.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 31/10/2016 19:49

bear

Apparently the pound on the same level as the Argentinean peso

Which is awesome....or ironic....or shit

One of those three words at any rate

Bearbehind · 31/10/2016 20:02

Awesomely, ironically shit rufus

OP posts:
Hawaiiisalongwayaway · 31/10/2016 20:04

The Independent article refers to 'dark days ahead 2018' Bear we probably will still be running the thread in that case..

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 31/10/2016 20:08

Think you may be right bear

Bearbehind · 31/10/2016 20:16

hawaii there's not much point in these threads anymore because it seems there is literally no one on MN (or IRL) who can provide any defence to the road we are currently going down that is based on anything other than wishful thinking and pipe dreams.

The Leavers who have contributed on these threads and any other referendum thread I've read are now all huddled in a virtual pub talking complete shite, slapping each other on the back and then sticking their fingers in their ears and chanting la-la-la and resolutely ignoring conversations about Brexit.

It's truly terrifying that that kind of puerile behaviour is considered appropriate. I'm absolutely horrified by it and that's no exaggeration.

I've said for a long time the behaviour is cult- like and it's getting worse.

OP posts:
Hawaiiisalongwayaway · 31/10/2016 20:46

I know I can't bear to go into (onto) the pub thread Sad.

The comments about 'feelings politics' and not wanting anymore facts has depressed me beyond belief.

twofingerstoGideon · 01/11/2016 16:02

Manon is annoying them by telling them what some expert said about the WTO Grin

MagikarpetRide · 01/11/2016 16:09

No, not an expert Shock

WinchesterWoman · 01/11/2016 17:02

Not annoying me Smile

we're managing fine thanks - just waiting to hear what manon thinks is so bad about WTO tariffs

Bearbehind · 01/11/2016 18:04

ww, I'm dying to hear your response to reds post

Answering with a load of questions has been done before so it's not worth going down that route again Grin
