111 or a&e?

I have a 15 day old who had an overnight hospital stay last week for poor feeding and weight loss,he has really improved since. However his toddler sister came home with a tummy bug Friday and today newborn ds has not fed since 8.30am. He vomited badly at 9am, again at 11.30 and has rejected all feeds no matter how much we tried. Syringe fed him at 6pm and he projectiled it all back up. He also has a temp of 35.3 and barely woken all day.

I don't know what to do :(

If you call 111 with a baby they will just send you to A&E anyway, and you will have had to wait for them to call you back. You might as well just go now, quickly!

whyohwhy000 · 16/10/2016 20:51

A&E or 999

111 would tell you to go to minor injuries/walk-in and your child would not be treated properly. At that age, he needs to be seen by a doctor (minor injuries/walk-in centres have nurses).

I've literally held my breath reading this, hoping that you've gone to a&e. Hope your little one is ok xx

PeppaPigTastesLikeBacon · 16/10/2016 20:52

I'm assuming you have called 999 or gone to hospital. Like people have said, you can't be too careful with a newborn

wherehavealltheflowersgone · 16/10/2016 20:53

Hoping you're in a&e now OP. If not, go now! The low temp concerns me.

idontlikealdi · 16/10/2016 20:54

a&e for sure. Hope you're there now OP.

MammaTJ · 16/10/2016 20:55

I am hoping you took baby to A&E or called an ambulance. All the best OP. I hope he makes a swift recovery.

KayTee87 · 16/10/2016 20:56

Jesus I hope you're at a&e and that baby is ok! Flowers

ScarlettDarling · 16/10/2016 20:59

After reading the first 10 responses unanimously saying a&e I wrapped him up and got dd dressed and headed straight there, just waiting now but he is really not right. He's been doing a really quiet whimper constantly for the last 45 minutes .

Will update but have my hands full with dd also being here until their dad can escape work.

Hope all is ok. You made the right decision. Fingers crossed for some good NHS service and not too long wait

Bugsylugs · 16/10/2016 21:14

Have you been triaged and has someone taken babies observations? If not they need to

Cocacolaandchocolate · 16/10/2016 21:14

Hope your baby is okay op.

EweAreHere · 16/10/2016 21:14

I hope he's ok, OP. They really should be seeing him right away if he hasn't kept anything down all day!

Dexterjamesmummy · 16/10/2016 21:15

Hope you get seen and sorted quickly xxx

DeputyPecksBentBeak · 16/10/2016 21:15

I hope everything's alright. Try not to worry (impossible, I know), you're in the best place Flowers

OhHolyFuck · 16/10/2016 21:16

Well done for acting so quickly, I hope someone's with you soon

Lupinlady5 · 16/10/2016 21:16

Make a fuss if you need to. They should see a newborn immediately.

FannyFifer · 16/10/2016 21:17

Glad you are at hospital. X

Lupinlady5 · 16/10/2016 21:17

And they can swiftly get on with rehydrating him etc so don't get too worried

Lalala82 · 16/10/2016 21:18

Well done for going in. Make a fuss if needs be Flowers
