To expect DH to shower more than twice a month

IsItJustFuck1ngMe · 03/10/2016 22:31

As the title goes really. DH has become very shower averse now there is a slight nip in the air, and has confessed to a shower hiatus extending to 12 days Confused. Has dispensed with regular full showers in favour of a 'whores wash' in the sink.

Maintains he is clean, I disagree and thinking of picking him up and putting him in the shower. DAILY. Regardless of screams and tantrums.

I'm not BU am I? Hmm. Unless in fact is a gremlins and melts???

I can't believe I'm about to ask this, but does he shower after sex? Or just a quick rinse in the sink?

CalleighDoodle · 03/10/2016 22:45

Confused urgh.

clumsyduck · 03/10/2016 22:45

Show him what poldark has written this pretty much sums up why only washing your pits and knob does not equal clean !!

CousinCharlotte · 03/10/2016 22:46

Yuck

AntiHop · 03/10/2016 22:46

Yuck. That makes me feel sick.

IsItJustFuck1ngMe · 03/10/2016 22:47

Will jam this in his line of sight tomorrow ... And place him in shower regardless of protests

For those asking now seen previous post. Whores wash = nether regions and pits. I think I got the term from Paul oGrady's autobiog.

OP posts:
Tanfastic · 03/10/2016 22:48

Gross. It would turn my stomach.

BastardGoDarkly · 03/10/2016 22:48

His hair alone must be fucking grim?!

Nah, I'm easy going as they come, but fortnightly? Nope.

annandale · 03/10/2016 22:49

Proper strip wash at the sink with a couple of flannels, plenty of soap and hot water, jug for rinsing hair, fine with me. Though unless you desperately want to save water, a shower's quicker.

'Whore's wash' - WTF?

imwithspud · 03/10/2016 22:50

Does he work? Surely he wouldn't want his colleagues to notice that he smells/his hair is greasy and gross? I hope his job isn't too physicalEnvy

PoppyPicklesPenguin · 03/10/2016 22:50

Does he shower after sex

Dear me I hope as he is a smelly fucker that the OP is not having sex with him that's a UTI waiting to happen or that he is at least has a shower before he does

It's disgusting, he's a grown arsed man who will need to be pointed to the shower

EastMidsMummy · 03/10/2016 22:52

Revolting pig.

IsItJustFuck1ngMe · 03/10/2016 22:53

Well. Thanks y'all for proving my point. I have to be fair and say 12 days is the extreme and a week is more common. But still! Going to bow out now as have an early train tomorrow

I'll let you know of the wrestling into the shower tomorrow Wink

OP posts:
roasted · 03/10/2016 22:53

I would actually leave him over this. I couldn't bear to share my personal space with someone who had such a grim sense of personal hygiene. Is he definitely house-trained? If you left him, I can't imagine anyone else putting up with this either. If he doesn't want to spend the rest of his life alone, he has to bloody clean himself!

DudeWheresMyVulva · 03/10/2016 22:55

Revolting.

And the term 'whore's wash' is obnoxious.

But seriously, yuck. And disrespectiful to you and anyone else he lives with, works with, goes on public transport with, or otherwise communes with.

GazingAtStars · 03/10/2016 22:56

A week is still fucking gross he must stink. I feel gross if I skip a day

neonrainbow · 03/10/2016 22:56

I wouldn't have sex with him. Ever. That's disgusting. As is the term whores wash. What a fucking catch.

acornsandnuts · 03/10/2016 22:56

Does he work? His work colleagues must be having a right winge behind his back.

Honestly he is kidding himself if he thinks people standing in the shop queue aren't gagging.

GazingAtStars · 03/10/2016 22:57

You shouldn't have to wrestle an adult man into the shower, literally or figuratively. Has he no self respect?

mummydarkling · 03/10/2016 22:57

Is your DH Bob Geldof? Grin

DudeWheresMyVulva · 03/10/2016 22:57

And FWIW, we had a friend of DH's stay with us for 8 days about this time last year. He did not wash hs body or his hair (hair is self cleaning apparently) . When he left DH put his bedding into a boil wash and then we vaxxed the mattress using detergent because it stank so bad.

HappyAxolotl · 03/10/2016 22:57

That is gross. If he were having a full top-to-toe wash with soap, flannel and water I'd say you were being picky, but he isn't and you aren't.

Surely pits-and-bits washing is to freshen up sweaty parts in between showers not as a substitute for them?

Justaboy · 03/10/2016 22:57

Jeez that's yuk can he not smell himself;?.

Everyday here that's and that's all 365 days a year some ones twice if the weather's making me sticky.

I need a shower to wake me up a bit anyway would miss it!. Invested several hundred in a power shower that's got the output of a fireman's hose!

idrinkandiknowthings · 03/10/2016 22:58

PoldarksBreeches Mon 03-Oct-16 22:41:21
So only his pits and genitals get sweaty? No dead skin collects in any other crevices? His scalp is self cleaning? His toes have no scum in between them?
Tell him to poke himself in the belly button and sniff his finger. Then see if he thinks he's clean.
I bet he absolutely reeks.

Breeches, that is seriously, and gaggingly, graphic Grin

ItsJustNotRight · 03/10/2016 22:58

If you have a fully functioning shower in a warm bathroom and he is not using it , I seriously thinks he has either depepression or mental health issues. I have a close relative ( not DH) thank God, who rarely showers. for lots of reasons. Fear or being cold, fear of falling over, and that's a big one , fear of being exposed ... I'm sure there's more. Even if you think it's down to laziness Inwould still think that's verging on mental health.
