So two workmen arrive at 8.30am by 10.30am BOTH had been for a shit. And they'll have working here by 12pm. That's less than four hours when they could either have gone before they set off in the morning or waited until they left.

One is stinking the whole ground floor out and I just know there is going to be something left for me to clear up when the stench has died down a bit.

Why, why, why would you go to someone else's house for a crap.

And I don't believe workmen suffer unduly from loose stools compared to the rest of the population but every single bloody one that comes here feels the need to offload as soon as they walk through the door.

Why would you have to clear it up? I've no problem telling someone to get back in and clean up after themselves.

I can't poo on demand. And if I need To go I can delay it for a couple of hours but not all flippin day

It seems they can poo on demand though greenlolly - the trigger being someone else's bog!

I didn't want to stand around outside the door with rubber gloves and bottle of Domestos, a) they might have got the wrong idea and b) I might have heard the full evacuation!

Perhaps word has got round the local tradesmen and your house is now known for its superior facilities? You need to hide the soap, break the bog seat and invest in some Izal.

Go and inspect, and if there is shit let go and tell them to clear it up.

The only way I can trigger off a clearing of my bowels is to drink a milkshake or eat prawns. Even then I'd still be periodically visiting your toilet as the symptoms calm down, and you'd better have the bleach and toilet brush on standby so I can minimise the damage. Other than deliberately triggering IBS, I don't get much choice about when my system is ready (which is unfortunate when I need to go for a long run) Many people don't have perfoming bowels.

They might have been stimulated by bending over and putting pressure on their system as they started work.

One of those things that we can't do much about I'm afraid.

Oh for goodness sake. It's a toilet, it's what it is for - they haven't taken a dump in your kitchen sink!

They're not triggered by being near someone else's toilet - they spend their whole working week near someone else's toilet! Where else would you suggest they go?

OP, you could always hunt high and low and possibly find two work women to do your job. That should solve your problem as my wife assures me that Lady shit smells of flowers.👍

Illness and debilitating conditions aside, they are here to work. I don't go to work for a clear-out. I prepare myself before I go so that I can do the job I'm being paid for.

And no, I can't imagine my clients being too impressed if I took time out at their houses for a dump.

And finally, it's always men. The cleaner doesn't feel the need to shit as soon as she walks through the door.

But if they were work women stones, firstly if they are Mumsnetters, they probably wouldn't ever shit in anyone else's toilet, because you are unusual on here if you are able to shit anywher except your own toilet. People have reported not going at all during a 2 week holiday .

Secondly, what if the work woman did go and then the OP would worry about another woman seeing her toilet and judging her on it's cleanliness .

I go when I need to go, so aren't shocked when visitors use my toilet. We all do it.

Maybe they have left it clean anyway - have you checked OP?

I think the problem on here amongst the toilet obsessives with shitting workmen is that they refuse to have toilet brushes so if the workman does go for a shit, and there are stains, they can't see any way of cleaning it up, so they see no option other than to leave it.

When you gotta go you gotta go i guess. I think people rougly poo around the same time everyday don't they? Almost like clockwork Just open the bathroom window for the time being and bleach the loo when they have gone.

For my previous job I had to spend an awful lot of time in other people's houses and never did a shit whilst there.

It's always tradesmen that do this - why isn't Mumsnet full of stories about HCPs, for example, shitting in their houses?
