To buy a beauty advent calendar at £95-£150 ?

Hi guys ,

I've been wanting the Selfridges advent calendars(£95) since they started doing them but could never part with the money . This year, I'm seriously considering buying it or the Charlotte Tilbury one (£150). It will be out in October and usually sells out quick and then I'll need to get it on Amazon for extortionate prices - so, I need to decide pretty quick if I should put money aside for one of them.

Has anyone bought either previously? Are they worth the money? Would you aplurge and treat yourself for Christmas?

I bought the m&S one last year, really liked it, not sure I would buy it again this year as I've still got some samples left.

Now the Jo Malone one, I look at it with dreamy eyes. Last years was over £300 I think though.

OK forget the cereal boxes - that Liberty one is rather beautiful, and that's even without the contents

I got my mum the L'occitane one last year and she loved it! She goes away a lot so the little sample sizes are perfect.

I got the No7 one last year which I think was very affordable. Absolutely brilliant and only 2 things I didn't like. The rest had all been fantastic and 6 full size products. Well worth £35 for anyone who wants one on a cheaper budget.

But what IS this about a stationary one!!!!?

The M&S one was in lovely packaging last year (although not quite as nice as the liberty one!!!) so I'm going to reuse that to make one for my Mum.

I want the Ginvent one but it's over £100 and I just can't bring myself to pay that amount for what is effectively one bottle of gin even though I could technically afford it.

There are male grooming ones I think. There's a whiskey one but its pricy, I think there's a beer one but its more like a crate. Tbh my DH would love a Star Wars Lego one but with a toddler around who grabs anything and him being a bit absent minded he might have to wait

YABVVVU for making me google Lego advent calendars. I'd never heard of them before and now I feel obliged to buy one.....for myself! Screw the kids, they're always getting nice stuff. It's my turn!

I had the M&S one last year, sold a few of the bits I wasn't going to use on eBay and more than made my money back. Hoping they do it again this year.
