On Facebook (I know, I know) but what the fuck happened to originality?

How come everyone going to a wedding these days are on their way to "The wedding of the year"?

Why, all of a sudden are all children/husbands/nans/cats "my world" and why do we suddenly "love them the world"? That doesn't even make fucking sense!

If I see another photo of a gang of lasses is Ibiza captioned "Love my girls xoxo" then I WILL resign from the Internet. I do enjoy that the photo is usually really flattering of the poster and often minging portrayals of the "girls".

Felt good to get that off my chest. Thanks.

i did my 1st hashtag last week #gbbo (great British bake off) Grin

MyFuckingHair · 31/08/2016 14:20

'Mind. Blown'.

Really? Really is your mind blown is it? Stfu.

GingerbreadGingerbread · 31/08/2016 14:22

Couldn't agree more. Also:

#SquadGoals

ample · 31/08/2016 14:25

Grin the hashtag sister thread!

Yes, Prosecco on every second status Hmm
'Prosecco evening gurlz!!!!!!' or 'My special glass of liquid gold for the evening', more often than not posted with said glass of bubble mixture strategically placed on kitchen counter top or on bath edge with candles aglow.
Yeah, you like to drink, we get it.

The weekly visits to cinemas with photo of child/children, aka #lilmovieesta posing with popcorn box and slushy cup. Surely they have been before? four days ago Hmm
Yes, yes they have.

The selfie pouts that look pathetic on anyone over the age of 14.

While I'm on a roll...
The various hospital check-in's... #feelingworried #feelingsad @___ (local hospital. Who would post such a thing if you were not looking for attention. Only reason to do so would be impending birth of new child but other than that, no, your 839 'friends' really do not need to know. The close family who do, can be called or messaged.

Facebook status fillers are getting worse, I'm so happy I deleted my account

MyFuckingHair · 31/08/2016 14:25

DadonIce do it! You must!

Reading through the other posts, I remembered how much 'Bae' irritates me. It actually makes me murderous. It makes me want to turn inside out with rage.

NorbertDentressangle · 31/08/2016 14:25

One that I've not seen for ages is "Whoop whoop".

As in:

Meeting my bestie later whoop whoop
Out in town tonight whoop whoop
Finish at lunchtime today whoop whoop

WTF? If you've got to make excited whoop whoop sounds then clearly what you're telling us is not that exciting

ample · 31/08/2016 14:26

Sorry, not really fad phase related but good to clear that off my chest.

formerbabe · 31/08/2016 14:27

I hate smug people who take photos of their really healthy food and then do a million hash tags

#vegan #cleaneating #healthy #healthyfood #organic #organicfood #glowing

Just f* off!

Sukistjames · 31/08/2016 14:29

YY to #squadgoals

Makes me want to unfriend people!

AnyTheWiser · 31/08/2016 14:36

This thread has made me LOL, hunz #blessed

Particularly dadonice's pic

Just reminded me why I'm not on social media #gratefulLuddite

ample · 31/08/2016 14:38

Haven't heard of #squadgoals, this is new?

Plenty of team ie: #teamwendell, #starteamwalker etc.

I don't have a team. I have a family Smile

ample · 31/08/2016 14:42

Photos of children's homework made by mum with the tags
#futurejkrowling, #futurestevejobs #futurespeilberg...
Needy parent, fuck off.

LikeDylanInTheMovies · 31/08/2016 14:57

The blessed hashtag makes me think the poster is an evangelical Christian.

Mumsnet is as bad for ridiculous phrases:

'Did you mean to be so rude?'

  • especially as it is not that much cop as a witty rejoinder. It invites the response 'yes I did'.

Fuck off to the far side of fuck and when you get there fuck off some more

  • smacks of the prissy girl at school trying out some swearing and feeling all rebellious.

Red flag for me

  • why not say 'that's a bit worrying'? But yet there's more red flags than a Marxist-Leninist Semaphore operators convention.

And the whole DH/DS/DM thing...

Grrr....

milkyface · 31/08/2016 14:58

ffitz the brand Thing is more of an Instagram thing so that companies see it and either re post your pictures (and therefore more people see it get more followers and likes bla bla) or send you free shit!

I personally hate #myone and #myman Blergh

Birdsgottafly · 31/08/2016 15:03

"" Is this just a Liverpool thing or is it everywhere by the way 'love my day one' (often a picture of someone with their 'best friend)""

I'm in/from Liverpool, I've never seen this and I've got friends and family who put "feeling blessed", all which I know cherish their children, so if that was a "Liverpool thing", I'd have seen it.

You just must know a Gang of Gobshites.(#exampleofaLiverpoolsaying).

quasibex · 31/08/2016 15:12

MyFuckingHair I find bae endlessly amusing because it's the Welsh word for bay so every time I read a post with #lovemybae or similar I wonder which expanse of water has them so excited...is it somewhere exotic like Phang Na Bay or more ordinary like Morecombe Bay (which I'm sure is beautiful for lovers of Morecombe Bay).

Laughter is the only way to counter inane Facebook posts Grin

Advicepls7080 · 31/08/2016 15:16

I'm from Liverpool like not an outsider , mine might be an Instagram thing then! I don't use Facebook or Twitter and it might be the age group of people I know/associate with 28-27 from Liverpool non of my uni mates do it - non of them are Scouse.

Whatkindofdayhasitbeen · 31/08/2016 15:17

"Fuck off to the far side of fuck and when you get there fuck off some more

  • smacks of the prissy girl at school trying out some swearing and feeling all rebellious"

I think this is a Billy Connelly quote, it sounds familiar.

I can't bear #blessed & all variants of Squad

LucilleBluth · 31/08/2016 15:22

I hate it. I have one main offender on my FB, pic of snotty two year old #my world. Pic of gurning 5yo #myprincess. I actually like her in real life. I mean on fleet, what....I'm feel old at 35.

Half of these hastags don't make any sense....I'm going to start some new ones.
#gusset
#swingingtits
#dogjizz
#bigbush

the3amclub · 31/08/2016 15:22

"Famalam" for family
Or "fam"

Just fuck off.

winchesterfan · 31/08/2016 15:25

I do not understand the 'gives me life' quote that's usually put alongside a picture.
The other one I hate is 'goals'

Flanderspigeonmurderer · 31/08/2016 15:25

Anyone who says they are beyond anything.
Eg We are beyond excited.

No you're not.

Uiscebeatha85 · 31/08/2016 15:25

Describing something great as 'everything!' As in 'This is everything!'

AngryAngryAngry

MyFuckingHair · 31/08/2016 15:30

You might have just taught me a coping strategy Quasibex As a Welshie, I should have spotted that myself. Anyway, diolch yn fawr!

faceremovinghaircream · 31/08/2016 15:36

Agree with so many of these.
Also when did people start 'smashing it' and 'killing it'? As in "you totally smashed/killed it".. People are so annoying!!
