To fork out nearly £100 for DS nursery uniform and his teacher looks like she's a stripper

I'm really pissed off. I thought my DS's nursery uniform was compulsory. I've paid almost £100 for polo shirts, jumpers and a jacket with the school logo and I find out 3 weeks after he has started that it was parents choice.

But what really pisses me off is that the teacher turns up looking like she is coming back from a music festival or night club. She had the tiniest cut off jean shorts and a top that I could see her boobs. She wasn't wearing a bra. God knows what my DS aged 4 said about this because I'm sure he would have. Every time she bent over I was afraid they would pop out of her top. Surely it isn't too much to ask to dress appropriately! I'm not a prude but what is it teaching the kids that they have to be smart but she can wear clothes that wouldn't look out of place on a stripper. I'm going to have to speak to the head but it is so awkward because I know the nursery teacher and head teacher out with school. WWYS?

This thread is another example of how desperate some MN are to tear apart posters, no matter what.

english state schools are still on holiday. Whereabouts are you OP?

Maybe someone on here could lend the nursery teacher their biggest pair of judgy pants to cover those emerging bum cheeks?

Have a quiet word with the head OP. FFS you're not over reacting at all. Tits and arse showing can wait until teacher finishes work in the afternoon.

Either it's worth raising formally or it isn't. If it is, approach the Head formally. If it isn't, have a word with the teacher.

It's not setting a good example of covering up in the sun to the kids.

I just think OP in exaggerating as she hasn't mentioned seeing nip in any posts (surely that would be a point of exclamation but other wise it just sounds lilt cleavage) now will she clarify the shorts length.

Not once has she said arse cheek was on show.

If it was that inappropriate then she would have been pulled up on it.

Some nurseries with uniforms are just suggested but all kids are still expected/do wear them.

Also remember that OP said she has known teacher and head for a long time, pre kids. Whether this is just in passing or actually as friends we don't know but I think it might be closer to the former.

You've labelled a woman a stripper just because she doesn't match your expectations of how a teacher should dress. She's your son's teacher- if you don't show her the respect she deserves how on earth will your son?

There's absolutely no indication that the shorts were arse-out style shorts. Nor is there any indication that OP saw nipples rather than just a bit of cleavage.

I'd be utterly gobsmacked if a person could wear arse-out shorts to their nursery job and not be told by any member of staff that they needed to go home and change because of how inappropriate it was. So I refuse to believe that the shorts were that short. And as for seeing a bit of cleavage, I really don't see the issue. Most if us wouldn't wear a top that buttons to the neck when it's hot.

My issue with the lack of bra, other than be mildly jealous, was the loose low cut top she was wearing meant when she leaned over you could see her bare breasts

Have you tried, oh, I don't know... not looking down her top, perhaps?!

Why Navy? Should men with breasts wear bras too?

Oh behave yourself.

I'm not the one looking down womens' tops in the workplace, dear.

Well yes if their man boobs are big enough.

Good luck with that then. I'm sure bras for men would go down spectacularly on Dragon's Den Grin

DD had a nursery teacher a bit like that. Kids loved her. So did the Dads. Grin

"Why is child starting nursery at 4?
Should he not be starting in infants?"

DD3 started going to council nursery at four and a half. Children here start primary school between the ages of four and a half and five and a half.

"english state schools are still on holiday. Whereabouts are you OP?"

I'd stab a guess at Scotland. Schools here reopen second or third week in August.

Helenluvsrob maybe Scotland, nursery and school started back in my area a couple of weeks ago.
