Good cheap wine

We have visitors at the weekend, and will need a shed full of wine. Can anyone recommend where I can buy good wine, that won't cost a fortune? Red or white.

Waitrose , 1000% and Lidl too, spend approx. £7 and you will be good

Sorry if it has been mentioned before. I think the Vivino app is fab for wine reviews and having a nosy at actual wine prices from restaurant wine lists etc

For a moment I thought that was the cheesy wine society Blush

Sainsburys are doing 25% off any 6 bottles online at the moment.

MrsGsnow18 · 12/08/2016 19:25

M&S have 25% off 6 bottles too. When you go for their wines of the month( which are normally £10 each but 2 for £12) you can get 6 very decent bottles for £27 which is £4.50 each.

Sorry if anyone else has already mentioned, have to confess to not reading entire thread.

Oooh... The Wine Society looks good. I might have too join! Smile

DH and DS got pissed off with me early this evening, mooching round Tesco wine shelves going 'hang on, hang on, I'm trying to remember which ones MN recommended'.

Vivino app is great. In terms of wine buyers, Majestic are best followed by M&S. Waitrose are appalling, given their prices!

Co op Andrew Pearce red and white both £4.99 excellent. Asda do loads under £5 pick a Hardys and you are usually sorted.

CatNip2 · 14/08/2016 10:45

I find Asda is the best place to stock up for special offers. They always have some deals on, although Tesco was good this week too. everyone has different tastes and some people can be quite rude about other's favourites.

For what it is worth, big favourites of mine at around a fiver a bottle are as follows:

Tesco Demi Sec Cava (the blue/lilac label) - prefer this to prosecco
Blossom Hill Soft and Fruity Red - very mellow and smooth
Hardy's Postcards Shiraz Rose

The last two are frequently on offer at Asda.

As usual, I am too late to the party.

Beefsteak Club Malbec Mendoza Argentina is £6.59 was £8.79 from Waitrose, it's a beaut, my wine specialist mate recommended this and did not disappoint
