To think this behaviour is unacceptable?

I'm an ordinary person, who likes most things, but AIBU to think that smooth peanut butter is just wrong and the people who eat it surely come from a different planet, even to men? I think they must definitely come from Uranus. It is just unacceptable behaviour from a "so say" (using fingers to emphasise the " ") human being to like such a thing. What are your thoughts?

Here is a recipe for naughty yummy frozen CPB and cheese Dobs (paleo friendly if you are into that kind of thing)

Get a bowl,
Dob (this is a correct measure for cpb) in 2 large dobs of cpb
a handful of grated cheddar,
half to one teaspn of marmite and some softened butter .

Mix to make a rough paste, (try not to eat this straight from the bowl)

Get some baking parchment
Put teaspoon size dobs of mixture onto parchment, flatten them a bit Sling in freezer for as long as you can stand them to be there
When dobs are hardened peel off a dob from the parchment and eat. Try not to eat the lot at once..

(As a child, we got our peanut butter from a health food store, which had a machine which ground up your peanut butter while you waited. It was unbelievably tough and heavy in texture, like eating a block of peanut. As a lover of peanut butter, this was very disappointing for me. Now as an adult, the smooooooother, the better.)

dd had to have smooth due to her braces
but she and I much prefer the crunchy, so after one attempt at smooth, we are back to crunchy.
actually tbh I buy value peanut butter and tht is always crunchy,

you can mix peanut butter with your muesli/porridge

can mix it with porridge oats and cook it > in fact I think I read a recipe where you dont even cook it, just chill it,

I tried making peanut butter ice cream once but the fat in it goes too hard in the cold and my ice cream machine ground to a halt within a few seconds of churning. I bent a few spoons trying to get some out of the container. If anyone has a peanut butter ice cream recipe that is churnable I would love to see it.

I like to mix smooth peanut butter and nutella on brown bread. Lovely!

DH has crunchy peanut butter......on burgers. It started with our local pub selling a burger with it on, he loved it. Now if I cook burgers he insists on smothering the bun in it. He reckons it's lovely but I'm not convinced.

I like both, but prefer smooth as it melts on hot rye toast just like butter! Favourite brand is Good Earth as they make it without sugar but with enough salt. Unfortunately has the palm oil in but I can't find a brand I like without it.

yes, crunchy. Smooth is a cooking ingredient IMHO.

When we lived in the NL, you could get very cheap smooth PB for cooking, but it was very oily.

Surely the big peanut butter divide is between sweetened and non-sweetened? There is a big difference between the Sunpat and the Whole Earth type varieties.

I love peanut butter, but the sweetened versions are really a bit disgusting. Only OK if I'm in the mood for dirty food

Oh and for a really disgusting option there is a variety with sweet peanut butter and grape jelly swirls. Making the American PB&J. Which is just nasty. Mainly because grape jelly is very very sweet.

Crunchy definitely! I'm 14 weeks pregnant and was REALLY fancying a peanut butter and jam bagel. My husband went shopping about bought both - of the smooth variety!

Depends on what it's used for: smooth is nicer for some things but crunchy is better for others. I used to only buy crunchy but bought smooth for DCs when they were little and now like both. Jars of PB don't last long in this house...
