Just been announced that Michael Gove is not going to endorse Johnson and is going to run as leader himself.

I reckon Boris is going to be right pissed off.

Who would you chose to be leader?

OP posts:
MitzyLeFrouf · 30/06/2016 13:06

Boris can be PM next time.

Boris is a lily livered toss pot who can't handle the pressure of big boy politics.

SlugArmyontheMarch · 30/06/2016 13:06

No pulling out of EU is pulling out of the excrement

rookiemere · 30/06/2016 13:06

How about Mark Carney I now have a huge crush on him. Leader for, well either side really.

TheRealMrsClarkson · 30/06/2016 13:07

Boris doesn't have the backing of Dacre & Murdoch as per Sarah Vine's 'leaked' email
Have we not realised who is pulling all the strings yet?
Free press my arse....is it democratic when Dacre & Murdock get to decide who runs the country ?

peachpudding · 30/06/2016 13:08

Corbyn doesn't have an opinion on what happens with Brexit, he hasn't mentioned it over the last week. I dont think he has the intellect to comprehend what to do, didn't he flunk school with two E's?

peachpudding · 30/06/2016 13:11

Thymeout, I was being facetious, of course I know the LibDems are still a party. One of them is even an MP but I couldn't name him!

GiddyOnZackHunt · 30/06/2016 13:14

Pats peach on her fluffy lil' head and sends her off to watch CBeebies.

peachpudding · 30/06/2016 13:18

Kicks GiddyOnZackHunt on the butt and switches channel to FOX news Wink

MissHooliesCardigan · 30/06/2016 13:30

Boris can be PM next time
You're making it sound like it's a game where little posh boys are playing a game and deciding which one of their chums gets the next turn at running the country. Oh, hang on...

Tanith · 30/06/2016 13:33

"Boris can be PM next time"

That's the sort of thing I tell my 3 year olds when they squabble over who will be Elsa Hmm

Thymeout · 30/06/2016 13:35

If the events of the last week had been an episode of Borgen, people would be saying that the series had jumped the shark.

peachpudding · 30/06/2016 13:49

It's a game insomuch as all of life is a game. When I said Boris can be PM next time, I missed out a word. I should have said Boris can try and be PM next time. Far from being a childs game its deadly serious. I dont see why class slurs are appropriate, everyone is allowed to try and be PM equally, why shouldn't Boris? If anyone is playing games its that idiot Corbyn who is deliberately destroying a party to fuel his ego.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 30/06/2016 13:54

It makes the Thick of It seem mild.
I bet there have been a few Malcolm Tucker impressions in Westminster over the last few days.

Twig45 · 30/06/2016 14:00

Boris has ruled himself out !!

MitzyLeFrouf · 30/06/2016 14:02

Wouldn't want to be relying on you for breaking news Twig! Grin

LittleLionMansMummy · 30/06/2016 14:07

Boris can try next time but I think even he realises it's game over in the higher echelons of politics for him. He accidentally won the referendum, looked like a rabbit in the headlights trying desperately to field Cameron's grenade curve ball, withdrew to lick his wounds looking more dishevelled than usual, made some noises about essentially still wanting to be part of Europe and then, having got us all into this situation fucks off with barely a by your leave. Tosser. He deserves to have his political career in tatters.

Topseyt · 30/06/2016 14:09

Well, I am glad BoJo has ruled himself out. Just shows though that he really didn't want Brexit to win. He wanted to piggy back into Downing Street having ousted Cameron on the back of a narrow win by Remain. Then he could take over the reins and carry on without having to implement his non-existent Brexit plan.

If I have to pick any of the current candidates it would have to be May first, or Crabbe. Certainly not Gove.

Perhaps Larry the Downing Street Cat could be persuaded to stand?

LittleLionMansMummy · 30/06/2016 14:13

Oh yes, don't misunderstand me, I'm relieved he won't be PM. I couldn't deal with two imbeciles sandwiching the Atlantic. But the winner is unlikely to be anyone the public actually wants.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 30/06/2016 14:15

I think Boris probably IS pissed by now, but as in the English definition.

HighDataUsage · 30/06/2016 14:20

www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-politics-36570120

Here it is, Boris has pulled out of the race.

OneFlewOverTheDodosNest · 30/06/2016 14:44

Crabbe thinks homosexuality can be cured - I'm not saying that Gove is preferable to that but...

BayLeaves · 30/06/2016 14:44

...like asking me to choose between AIDS and syphilis.

...do you want vomit or shit on your chips?

...like a 'Most attractive Cockroach' contest

It's times like this I really love Mumsnet Grin

originalmavis · 30/06/2016 15:39

I'm thinking of a new line in greeting cards actually.

Flashbangandgone · 30/06/2016 15:45

The LibDems aren't in parliament anymore. Didn't they merge with someone else?
Hmm. They got a drubbing yes, but they weren't wiped out - they have 8 MPs... And no they haven't merged.

rookiemere · 30/06/2016 15:50

Maybe we could persuade Trump to have a go - seeing as he is totally au fait with British politics and all.

He might not be right wing enough for the party though.
