Just been announced that Michael Gove is not going to endorse Johnson and is going to run as leader himself.

I reckon Boris is going to be right pissed off.

Who would you chose to be leader?

OP posts:
Margrethe · 30/06/2016 10:02

It's clearly highly personal and completely irrelevant to this discussion howtorebuild. What was your point anyway?

cdtaylornats · 30/06/2016 10:03

I am a Tory and I do get a vote and its Theresa May

howtorebuild · 30/06/2016 10:04

The question was posted on the thread, what did she lie about. Not engaging anymore, knock yourself out.

Shouldwestayorshouldwegonow · 30/06/2016 10:05

Theresa May. Much the best.

The post about her adopted dd is vile and the poster should get it deleted. Actually will report it

flamingnoravera · 30/06/2016 10:06

Howto So you are suggested she lied about giving a child for adoption? Really?

RedToothBrush · 30/06/2016 10:07

Where's the petition to bring back Cameron?

LurkingHusband · 30/06/2016 10:09

Theresa May. Much the best.

No. Least worst. Arguably.

I think the last party leader I felt good about was John Smith Sad.

BeyondTellingEveryoneRealFacts · 30/06/2016 10:10

I despise all of them, but judging Teresa May on having a child adopted is irrelevant, misogynistic and Not On.

derxa · 30/06/2016 10:12

Not to me derxa, he just stopped the dumbing down that labour brought in
Primary education wasn't dumb in the first place.

Sallyingforth · 30/06/2016 10:14

I have never been more ashamed of my country than today.
Leaving the EU because millions of people believed racist lies.
The two main political parties leaderless.
Decisions on vital infrastructure projects postponed.
The UK in danger of breaking up.
People in fear of losing their jobs.
Hate crimes in the streets.

I could cry.

fascicle · 30/06/2016 10:16

OhStacey
I love Gove and he is very liberal in many ways (see his prison policy) but he's really a man of the people.

I'm not sure he is a man. I have a sneaky suspicion he is an invertebrate.

Shouldwestayorshouldwegonow · 30/06/2016 10:17

Lurking sgree with you on John smith. Huge loss.

ipsogenix · 30/06/2016 10:23

I wonder if we may be in for a rough ride actually:

Margrethe · 30/06/2016 10:24

I wish the labour party could have a vigorous selection process for a new leader too. There isn't much talent stepping forward. I don't think Jeremy has been an effect leader. We need badly need a strong opposition and a credible alternative government.

Sallyingforth · 30/06/2016 10:24

Another vote for John Smith. If only we could bring him back from the dead.

peachpudding · 30/06/2016 10:24

After that speech May is getting my vote, although Gove is still tempting.

FurryLittleTwerp · 30/06/2016 10:25

Crabbs seems the most normal but a bit of an unknown quantity

Hunt is a Cunt

Boris is a twat

May is nasty

Leadsom - no idea - are they (see I don't know if it's a man or a woman) normal?

Gove is awful

peachpudding · 30/06/2016 10:25

Has Labour even managed one candidate for their new leader yet?

BitOutOfPractice · 30/06/2016 10:26

To be honest I don't think Boris is in a position to complain at his mates fucking him over. At least I think David Cameron might be having a hollow laugh about it now.

Bunch of self-serving twats the lot of them

Mistigri · 30/06/2016 10:26

I laughed out loud on reading the OP.

What a bunch of liars and incompetents.

Someone wrote on Twitter last night that in the past it has happened that the party's favourite doesn't make it to the final two. There's now a serious risk that the favourite among party members at large doesn't even make it to the final two.

Gove though... What a snake he is. I think I'd almost prefer Boris.

Margrethe · 30/06/2016 10:26

Just Angela Eagle, I think.

midsomermurderess · 30/06/2016 10:28

Crabbs worries me. I suspect he might be one of those 'If I made it from a poor background you all can so let's slash benefits' types. A modern Norman Tebbit, and that fills me with gloom. As to the others, I don't know where to start, but I entirely agree about Theresa May, high on the agenda for her will be repealing the Human Rights Act. Yes, I know we will still be signatories to the ECHR, but it is a malevolent statement of intent.

OhGoveUckYourself · 30/06/2016 10:29

I cannot believe I am saying this but I wish David Cameron would stay. Shock

Thymeout · 30/06/2016 10:29

I'm hoping she's a caretaker candidate, so as not to split the anti-Corbyn vote.

Nothing against her, just that others would be better.

Justaskingnottelling · 30/06/2016 10:29

Sorry I asked the question now. Thought someone had accused her of lying about something political.
