there seems to be a trend on here sometimes for some people to follow the 'popular choice' on subjects that might be controversial, some will stick their heads over the parapet and risk getting flamed but most will stick to the 'right' choice. i bet there are posters on here today who voted to leave, saw the slagging off and decided to declare themselves as remain.
just a thought - ready for my hair singeing ! Smile

I voted Remain, as did the other 4 adults in my house. My neighbours voted Remain also,as we found out this morning when we discussed it on the doorstep at 7am.

MrsLupo · 24/06/2016 18:06

I would have voted remain, [...] But I didn't bother and I was right not to as my area had almost 70% vote in favour of leave so it would have been a waste of my time

Shock Well, I guess that puts the lie to the idea that it was exclusively Leavers who haven't really been paying attention.

StrawberryLeaf · 24/06/2016 18:09

My husband I voted remain but we are in Scotland so we are in the majority.

TheNotoriousPMT · 24/06/2016 18:14

I voted remain.

I'm in the NE. Am now worried about the future of Nissan in Sunderland, which employs 6,700 people directly and 20,000 further jobs dependent on the plant, including many engineering apprenticeships that have been a godsend for some young people I've worked with. It was already a struggling, deprived area; watching 61% of Mackems vote Leave is like watching someone obliviously walk backwards off a cliff. I am sad and angry.

UhtredRagnorsson · 24/06/2016 18:15

Shelley - I hope you don't teach my kids.

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 24/06/2016 18:15

I voted remain.

Fratelli · 24/06/2016 18:17

I voted remain. I voted for my toddlers future.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 24/06/2016 18:17

Uhtred - I think that is a very unpleasant thing to say to shelley!

dowhatnow · 24/06/2016 18:17

My year 6 neice came home spouting leave stuff that had been said by her teacher. Angry

GoringBit · 24/06/2016 18:18

After a lot of wavering, I voted remain with some reservations. I really didn't expect this result, and am surprised by how upset and disappointed I feel today.

Fuck David Cameron for starting this whole situation, just to try and achieve another term in power. The utter, utter fucker.

2016Bambino · 24/06/2016 18:20

Remain for me. I felt so strongly about it that I did a postal vote as we are on holiday.

Ragwort · 24/06/2016 18:20

I voted remain and campaigned for remain.

But I do know many people who voted 'leave' including my DH, parents & siblings. Sad.

UhtredRagnorsson · 24/06/2016 18:23

SDTG I think for a teacher to vote to sell young people down the river is a particularly unpleasant thing to do. And pretty damn troubling. What she has done will materially damage my kids' future. What I said might hurt her feelings. Boo Hoo.

Babyroobs · 24/06/2016 18:24

I voted remain, as did my dh and most work colleaugues that I spoke to said they did.

JustBeingJuliet · 24/06/2016 18:26

I voted remain as I genuinely didn't know what to do and something I read on Facebook rang true - if you don't know how to vote, vote remain, as we can opt out at a later date; to leave is a one way ticket.

Orda1 · 24/06/2016 18:27

I voted to remain. Several people I know voted to leave - none are uneducated in any sense of the word.

ToadsJustFellFromTheSky · 24/06/2016 18:31

I haven't RTFT, but I voted leave Sad.

I honestly thought that was the right thing to do at the time but now I'm not so sure. Not that my vote on it's own would make much if any of a difference if he had voted remain but I feel bad now.

Do we know for sure that we're screwed now?

Cubtrouble · 24/06/2016 18:32

I voted leave. For what it's worth I am reasonably well off.
I voted leave because I am sick of the red tape surrounding everything. Under powered Hoovers, car emissions, hi viz jacket wearing, scaffold licenses, airport tax, tax, human rights, everything. Everything that we as adults can happily decide for ourselves is controlled by Brussels when the rest of Europe do as they please.

Our country should be the best in the world, we all of us can make it and should be making it the best in the world. It is not about immigration, race or religion although The remain campaign loves banding the "racist" card around. It is about believing we can do a better job on our own without having big brother pulling our strings like a puppet.

ToadsJustFellFromTheSky · 24/06/2016 18:32

Oh and I'm 25 and working class if that makes a difference.

HopeArden · 24/06/2016 18:33

There is a shit load of scaremongering in the media, who seem to be all remainers. I'd take some of this doom prophesy with a pinch of salt.

ToadsJustFellFromTheSky · 24/06/2016 18:33

I've posted on Twitter and Facebook that I voted leave but now I'm also regretting sharing that information. Too late to delete it though and pretend it never happened.

People probably think I'm a twat now.

HopeArden · 24/06/2016 18:35

Well 52% voted the same as you

ALemonyPea · 24/06/2016 18:46

I voted remain.

I was quite shocked to see my parents and siblings voted leave, especially since they'll all be directly affected by some of the major companies should they leave GB.

The only leavers I've seen posting on FB are those who I know to be racist/xenophobic. I've since hidden them as they are gloating about it and being quite ridiculous.

derxa · 24/06/2016 18:49

Remain as did DH DSs. We're furious about the result. It's catastrophic
We're Scottish living in England. We don't understand why it happened.
David Cameron and Boris Johnson playing with the 'little people'

imwithspud · 24/06/2016 18:49

Our country should be the best in the world, we all of us can make it and should be making it the best in the world

Why should we? What makes us so much better than everyone else? We are a tiny island, who yes has achieved a lot in past and present. But we also seem to have a high sense of entitlement, which is kind of ironic.

It is about immigration for some leavers, I'm sorry but that's just how it is. And unfortunately those are the people who stand out the most because of their ridiculous reasoning. I have had my local news on a few times throughout today and every sound bite from various people in my region who voted leave have said that they voted that way to stop immigrants from taking jobs, benefits and houses. As if a brexit will solve all their problems.
