to have gotten matching head tattoos with DH?

DH and I, are definitely on the quirky side. We both got tattoos on our heads. Very similar, but mine is the female version and his is the male version. My mum never knew I was getting it done, tbh at 29 I wouldn't have said I needed her approval. I have my MIL blaming me and claiming that I have influenced her son into it. Friends claim that it looks ridiculous! All I want to know is WIBU? Surely as family and friends you don't have to just be damn right spiteful about a choice I have made, I mean it isn't illegal/hurting anyone. Grrr.

It's very easy to misconstrue what people say when you are not having a face to face conversation.
Reapwhatyousow said as long as you are not on benefits, bills are paid and you feed your children. I took that to mean that bills and nutrition are prioritised over frivolities such as tattoos. If i was on benefits, then I would prioritise my children and what they had over a tattoo.
But what do I know. I haven't even got a clue how much one costs!
Oh and BTW before I get flamed, I don't frown about people on benefits smoking and drinking!

Piemernator · 23/06/2016 18:07

It's just another type of uniform.

eightbluebirds · 23/06/2016 18:08

Brilliant

What DVD was it though? Grin

Tummyclutter · 23/06/2016 18:15

I wouldn't judge a DVD either - unless it was a porn one Grin

Fomalhaut · 23/06/2016 18:32

I don't like them. But it's not my body. It's your body, and you have the right to put whatever you want on it. Ditto flesh tunnels - I dont like them either but each to their own. People might not like what I wear, or how I do my hair. Style is an individual thing.

Tattoos are so widespread now that I don't think anyone is shocked by them are they? I think over half the people I know have one at least. The only thing that'd really raise an eyebrow is anything offensive ( I did once see a bloke on the bus in Leeds with a national front tattoo and a bitten chunk out of his ear, that certainly got a few looks of disapproval....)

NeedACleverNN · 23/06/2016 18:44

What DVD was it though?

NCIS:Los Angeles season 4 for £10. And then it because it was 2 for £15 I got season 5 too Shock

You better lock me in the stocks and throw rotten veg at me really shouldn't you

dustarr73 · 23/06/2016 18:46

Snark that is amazing.
Plus i dont understand the venom on here if some adult woman get anything girly.I have a sleeve thats pink and purple and a his n hers tattoo. Its nobody elses business.

I like girly things,so what.

NedStarksHead · 23/06/2016 18:46

Tattoos really bring out the cunt in some people

And by that I mean people are absolute cunts for thinking they can be so fucking rude about someone else's choice.

I love these, they are absolutely fabulous & you both pull them off so well!

MrsSpecter · 23/06/2016 18:48

And then it because it was 2 for £15 I got season 5 too shock

Shock. Such extravagance!

NeedACleverNN · 23/06/2016 18:50

I know....I'm so ashamed Sad

Tummyclutter · 23/06/2016 19:00

Yes Nedstarkshead you are so right, because everyone that posted on here saying they didn't like them is a cunt. I'm 100% sure that everyone that said they didn't like them wouldnt walk up to anyone with a tattoo and say they looked horrible, but that's because people in real life don't walk down the street saying what the OP said -if it was unreasonable to have got matching head tattoos. They wouldn't even look twice at them because they are so mainstream now.
Guess what, people are allowed to have opposing views and can say they don't like them.

Marmalade85 · 23/06/2016 19:02

My mum, dad and both sisters all have tattoos. I'm the only one without one

Tummyclutter · 23/06/2016 19:11

There was a tattoo thread recently, and there were 2 that caught my eye, this one by Dustarr, and another one with trees. I still wouldn't get one, but I'm not a cunt for saying in the main I don't like them.

Tummyclutter · 23/06/2016 19:12

But then those 2 tattoos were actually IMO 'quirky'.

Skiptonlass · 23/06/2016 19:18

I'm generally not a fan and I have no desire to get one. I've seen an awful lot of pretty ill advised tattoos - my favourite being a girl with home done names of her boyfriends down her arm - each name neatly crossed out and another one writ underneath...

Sometimes I see one that I think is genuinely a work of art (the one tummy shoes above is very good.)

In the main I'm not a fan, but that's just my opinion. It's your body, do what you want. If it's meaningful and you like it then go for it.

Tummyclutter · 23/06/2016 19:32

Here's the tree one by inkinkink
Another actual work of art.
Not your generic.
Someone with actual individuality.
But like I said in the beginning its your body, your choice. That is not a 'judges statement' just a fact!
Do all tattooed people sneer at people that haven't got them??

to have gotten matching head tattoos with DH?
Tummyclutter · 23/06/2016 19:33

'Judgey' statement

hotdiggedy · 23/06/2016 19:50

Saying you dont much care for tattoos or random piercings that leave big holes in your skin isnt pearl clutching or being judgmental. Its just stating an opinion. The aggression seems to be coming from the 'tattoo defenders'.

And yes, I do cringe at people who have to declare so loudly that they dont f'ing care what people f'ing think because its none of their f'ing business.

And I still say it would be pretty weird to see an old lady plastered in tattoos and chunks missing from their ears.

NeedACleverNN · 23/06/2016 19:53

And I still say it would be pretty weird to see an old lady plastered in tattoos and chunks missing from their ears.

10 years ago yes it would have been weird. Now days? Doubt it. Give it 30 years or so and most elderly people will have a tattoo or a piercing somewhere. Maybe even a flesh tunnel

Itriedtodohandstandsforyou · 23/06/2016 19:56

Love it.

ElleBellyBeeblebrox · 23/06/2016 20:03

When we are old we will all be wrinkly and saggy. Well some of us will be wrinkly saggy old fuckers with tattoos, with colour and stories and memories. I know which camp I'd rather be in.

squoosh · 23/06/2016 20:06

I hope I have stories and memories even without tattoos!

squoosh · 23/06/2016 20:11

I don't mind tattoos although I don't want any myself but I saw a man yesterday with tattoos over both arms and thought to myself that ten years ago I'd have looked at him and thought 'oh, he looks a bit cool and edgy' whereas these days it's just a non edgy, mainstream look.
