to have gotten matching head tattoos with DH?

DH and I, are definitely on the quirky side. We both got tattoos on our heads. Very similar, but mine is the female version and his is the male version. My mum never knew I was getting it done, tbh at 29 I wouldn't have said I needed her approval. I have my MIL blaming me and claiming that I have influenced her son into it. Friends claim that it looks ridiculous! All I want to know is WIBU? Surely as family and friends you don't have to just be damn right spiteful about a choice I have made, I mean it isn't illegal/hurting anyone. Grrr.

YABU and so is everyone else who thinks a tattoo makes them quirky or edgy

lotsoffunandgames · 22/06/2016 21:48

It's your body, you are old enough to make decisions.everyone is different. Your family and friends will get used to it. I think they were rude to say it looks ridiculous.

OurBlanche · 22/06/2016 21:48

Is it only my laptop that shows "Til death" and "do us part"?

Whatslovegottodo · 22/06/2016 21:48

Your body, your choice. As long as tattoos are not offensive I don't see a problem. Not my style but ok, not horrific or anything.
If you decide you are sick of it you can just grow your hair a little.
What do you do for work? Rightly or wrongly my work would freak at that, which is a shame really.

acasualobserver · 22/06/2016 21:48

If you're going for something as unconventional as matching head tattoos then I think you need to develop a certain 'fuck you' attitude towards those who, predictably, don't think much of your choice.

EElisavetaOfBelsornia · 22/06/2016 21:49

Does it say:

till death...

...do us part

?

Nice sentiment, but the skulls are a bit freaky.

CrownofStars · 22/06/2016 21:49

I think they are adorable.

RaskolnikovsGarret · 22/06/2016 21:49

I wish I were cool enough to have any tattoos, let alone those works of art. Sad I think they're fab!

KoalaDownUnder · 22/06/2016 21:49

I think all head tattoos are horrible. M

But YANBU to do what you want with your own head, and your friends are rude.

sue51 · 22/06/2016 21:50

Well I'm nnot keen but it's your head and your choice. It will be easy enough to grow your hair back should you tire of them.

TheOliveTree547 · 22/06/2016 21:50

Yes, it says that Smile we like em! Tbh, I do have a fuck you attitude, but as they're family, they do go on a bit...!

It's clearly your style and you've got them done all professionally (no quack in the kitchen with his mates needles like) so absolutely no problem in my book. 👍
Seems a bit of a knee jerk reaction from your MiL to blame you when her adult son got it done but I think if you give it time family and friends will accept it as the artwork you come with.
I really like the bow on the girly skull 😁

LunaLoveg00d · 22/06/2016 21:51

Ewww.

Just as well your hair will grow. Let's hope you're not going for a job interview any time soon.

lotsoffunandgames · 22/06/2016 21:51

KC225-op didn't say the tattoos made her quirky. She said they were on the quirky side. Not necessarily because of them.

OnionKnight · 22/06/2016 21:53

Where do you work OP?

HermioneJeanGranger · 22/06/2016 21:54

Your body, your choice.

I don't like them personally, but it's not my body!

sepa · 22/06/2016 21:54

From the small glimpse, you both seem like people who can pull them off. Although I wouldn't personally get it done I think they look cool and they are in a place that could be covered if you wished unlike what I was imagining and you had them on your face

Petal40 · 22/06/2016 21:55

Wow..I love it amazing....I've got my neck done plus loads of others all over...but I love yours what else have you had done ?

Cute Grin.

I have a v respectable teacher mate with a massive chameleon tattoo on his head. The tail coils down & round behind his ear.

He shaves his head (usually with Mohawk) for summer. The rest of the time it's unobtrusive - if you stand behind him when his hair is grown out you can see the tail tip but that's it.

My only caveat would be that it'll really irritate you both if you ever split up, but still, easily covered & no job blocker.

Yambabe · 22/06/2016 21:56

YABVU to have used the word "gotten" in your title, but the tattoos are your own business and your families should butt out!

vinca · 22/06/2016 21:57

They're great! But the only people that need to like them are you two Smile

Crispbutty · 22/06/2016 21:57

Lol oh well your hair will grow. I'm not anti tattoo but I can sort of understand parents not being impressed with them.

KissMyArse · 22/06/2016 21:58

Your heads, your decision.

They will actually be one of the easiest tats to hide if you decide you don't like them in years to come. Grow the hair on that side and have an undercut on the untattooed side.

Out of interest what was the pain scale rating for a skull tattoo?
