Any others who truly prefer to be alone?

Just that. I can only completely relax when I'm totally alone and there's no prospect of anyone bothering me any time soon. I prefer my own company, and don't like watching films, TV programmes with others. I've always been like this and it doesn't bother me. It only bothers me when other people insist it's odd, and try to pressure me into being a person I'm not. I live alone and am more than happy with this; think it would kill me to have to share a space with someone else!

So, I'm just hoping to hear from others who perhaps feel the same. To reassure me that I'm not the only one Grin

This thread has made me think
I am going to try and shorten Xmas with family. Three to four days is too much and then my sis always wants to do a big NYE as well.

Me too.Alone.cleaning chatting to DM and.xxx on the phone. No idea why people insist I need friends!!Now I will get badgered about the Xmas party......I don't like crowds and.work 55 hours a week.I value.my FREE time to recharge.

Zombie thread but very apt. I was just saying this to Dp today. Everyone seems to follow me round the house and it drives me mad. I need lots of short amounts of time on my own or I feel I'm losing the plot and get grumpy.

At work I appear extremely sociable so I bet nobody would guess.

As I get older I value my time alone, for me it's not even about being 'antisocial' as I've been described, it's merely about rejuvenation of my mental health, and putting the modern world into perspective. I truly love people per se, for all we as a species has to offer, but I just don't feel the need to be surrounded by them!
