To think it's grim and lazy to piss in the shower

Inspired by another thread but not a TAAT.

I'm surprised how many people think it's OK and actually do it themselves.

But why is it grim? You're in a shower, the urine goes straight down the plughole and is washed away instantly, and if any gets on your legs or your feet it's mixed in with all the shower water and rinsed off immediately. And you are in the shower to get clean, so you are washing yourself anyway. So even if there were any evil wee germs on your legs you would then soap them off.

I don't give a flying anything whether anyone wees in the shower or not, but the idea that it's somehow gross is very odd. I know there is a huge community posting on here, so the actual percentage of people with these bizarre hygiene issues might be quite small, but I often feel I've entered a parallel universe with talk of Disgusting Bog Brushes and Pyjamas Changed Daily and Skin Flakes and Fainting at the Sight of Pubic Hair.

I use the toilet before showering, never peed in the shower.

YABU.

Sallystyle · 07/06/2016 14:57

BTW I am probably even more grim because my shower is attached to the bath and I have to stand in the bath to shower and pee.

I pee in the bath, it's good for my eczema probably.

squoosh · 07/06/2016 14:58

It's just a bit animal.

I think that's part of the appeal. I am animal, hear me piss (in the shower).

There's nothing grim about it. Fgs, do you not shower when you have your period just in case you see blood? If you got covered in vomit (for some reason) would you not get in the shower to clean it off? What's the difference? There is hot running water, and soap, and it's just your own bodily fluids. You are getting clean, that's the point.

I pee in the shower every morning. I quite enjoyed it before and I'm going to enjoy it much more now Grin

ICanSeeForMiles · 07/06/2016 15:02

I pee in the shower all the time. However, what I consider a personal low point was when I was so hungover I was crouched over, retching, while the water hit my back from the shower Blush
NEVER again.

BBQsAreSooooOverrated · 07/06/2016 15:03

I've had an occasional wee in the shower, easier than getting out and going into the next room for the loo. lazy minger

Patterkiller · 07/06/2016 15:04

I need to cross reference those who pee with the other thread running who doesn't wash all over with soap in the shower.

kerbys · 07/06/2016 15:04

It's bloody annoying to realise you need a wee when you've just got out of the shower.

AndNowItsSeven · 07/06/2016 15:04

It's more hygienic than wiping your vulva with a bit of tissue.

Fridayschild5 · 07/06/2016 15:05

I only started doing it after reading about it on here. I wouldn't admit it to anyone in RL however. I remember hearing Ken Livingstone say the the following or similar with regard to toilet flushing in his household:
"If it's brown, flush it down
If it's yellow, let it mellow"

I wee in the shower. Like other posters have said, even if I don't need a wee when I get in I find I always need one when I get in there.
More annoyingly I'm finding that these days I need one as soon as a turn the shower off, I'm standing there drip drying a bit before I get out of the shower when I'm suddenly desperate to wee. Thats annoying because I either have to turn the shower back on & wee in the shower or get out & sit on the loo all wet & shivery.

5BlueHydrangea · 07/06/2016 15:07

I do. Also love a good nature wee. Like when camping, too far at night to go to the toilet blocks, just wee behind the tent somewhere! Does feel a bit animal like and if its light there is a little adrenaline rush at the thought someone else might be out there even if its 5 am and not very likely!

evileyes · 07/06/2016 15:08

It's fine, I do it all the time. I did it once in the girl's showers at high school without thinking... my friends did not think it was as fine as I did Blush

NuckyT · 07/06/2016 15:08

As long as you do it early in your shower, at the start of the 'rinse cycle' basically, then it's not too much of a problem.

Unless you start habitually using your shower area instead of the toilet, that is...

squoosh · 07/06/2016 15:13

I like a nature wee too. Shake it out over some moss.

saffynool · 07/06/2016 15:18

I do love a good MN 'yew filthy beasts!' thread Grin

imwithspud · 07/06/2016 15:20

It's not something I get worked up about. I don't tend to pee in the shower, like a pp said its like my body won't allow it as it's akin to soiling myself. But I don't see the issue with it, it's washed away along with any other bodily fluids instantly anyway.

Peeing in the bath so you're practically sat in it is a bit grim though.

CamembertQueen · 07/06/2016 15:21

I get pissed in the bath and pee in the shower

Grin I am missing out on life!! I need to try this.

Boogers · 07/06/2016 15:21

I'm like CoYo, it's an almost Pavlovian response when I get under the running water. But I also clean my teeth whilst in the shower so I'm just a skank through and through! Grin
