To think it's grim and lazy to piss in the shower

Inspired by another thread but not a TAAT.

I'm surprised how many people think it's OK and actually do it themselves.

I've never understood why people think a waste product is sterile.

Here's something that says it's not.

BertrandRussell · 07/06/2016 15:26

But the water that runs off your bottom when you're washing it is hardly sterile either. And water with bits of poo in it is surely more of a health hazard than pee? And it goes down the drain, and then the shower tray is cleaned......please will someone explain why it's an issue!

ShelaghTurner · 07/06/2016 15:29

Presumably you non wee-ers don't get up to anything else in the bath/shower then? And you police your dh's ablutions to make sure they're not sneakily knocking one out and letting all sorts escape down the plug hole? Grin Don't think wee is any worse than that - although am not a wee-er but do brush my teeth in the shower.

MyNewBearTotoro · 07/06/2016 15:30

I'd do it in my own shower.

I wouldn't do it if using someone else's shower or if it was a shower which requires you to stand in a bath.

You're perfectly entitled to think it's grim and not to do it yourself but really there's not really anything wrong with it. Urine is sterile and it's washed away straight away so no time to dry, stain or smell.

If you ever live with teenage boys I can almost guarantee that won't be the only bodily fluid they're ejecting in the shower...

DistanceCall · 07/06/2016 15:31

Doesn't everyone?

God, no.

That said, despite the fact that it horrifies me I am unable to do it myself, I am not sickened by the fact of other people doing it, even in my own shower. As other people have said, it's just ammonia.

Buckinbronco · 07/06/2016 15:32

That's interesting imperial. I don't think it for any reason other than it seems a commonly thought myth

Milander · 07/06/2016 15:32

I empty the mooncup in the shower

amysmummy12345 · 07/06/2016 15:33

I've got stitches and labial grazes from giving birth last week, pissing in the shower is my luxury, not fanny stinging treat at the moment YABU

piddleypower · 07/06/2016 15:35

YABU. I do it all the time without a second thought, within three seconds the wee is washed away down the plus hole.

Only do it when the shower is on Grin

Why is it different if you stand in the bath to shower as opposed to having a separate cubicle? Genuinely baffled.

ChihuahuaChick · 07/06/2016 15:42

Well you wash crumbs of shit and dandruff and period blood off in the shower, so what's a bit of piss?

AlpacaPicnic · 07/06/2016 15:44

I try not to do it in a communal shower like at the swimming pools, but I don't honestly get much of a choice... even if I pee before I get i a little bit comes out when the water is a-flowing!

Yabu. It's just wee.

UmbongoUnchained · 07/06/2016 15:46

What's the problem with brushing teeth on the shower?

I think peeing in the shower is revolting and if I found someone doing that in my shower they would not be invited back.
I don't even have words for the person who pees in the bath. I think baths are gross anyway but to be laying in your own piss....

UmbongoUnchained · 07/06/2016 15:47

And surely you wear a tampon in the shower if you're on?!

PaulDacreCuntyMcCuntFace · 07/06/2016 15:49

Can't wait to see this in the Daily Mail Grin

I am baffled - as I said on the other thread - about why this is such an issue. The piss is being washed down the drain with litres of hot soapy water, so what's the problem?

New style loos which are low flush should only use 4-5L of water per flush. The old style Victorian loos can use up to 13L per flush Shock If you are on a water meter it does start to add up.

whois · 07/06/2016 15:50

I don't plan to but if I realise I need a wee and I'm already under the running water I have a wee in the shower.

saffynool · 07/06/2016 15:51

If you wore a tampon in the shower you'd have wet strings sticking to your legs when you came out. Now that's gross.

BertrandRussell · 07/06/2016 15:51

Well, not if you don't use tampons!

Why is it revolting?

If a child vomited on you, would you not have a shower to wash it off?

I've had to shower to wash horse pee off my legs- is that revolting too?

whois · 07/06/2016 15:51

What's the problem with brushing teeth on the shower?

I think because the hot water used to come from a tank that had been sitting getting mingling for a while. Now it's probably just straight from the mains through a gas boiler.

saffynool · 07/06/2016 15:52

They might not quote your username though Paul Grin

squoosh · 07/06/2016 15:53

I think peeing in the shower is revolting and if I found someone doing that in my shower they would not be invited back.

If I found that my host or hostess were spying on me in the shower I wouldn't want to be invited back Wink

UmbongoUnchained · 07/06/2016 15:53

whois
Oh I see. I don't use the shower water as my sink is right next to the shower.
