To think it's grim and lazy to piss in the shower

Inspired by another thread but not a TAAT.

I'm surprised how many people think it's OK and actually do it themselves.

It turns my shower boiling hot if I get out to wee! Urine is sterile people drink the stuff so I can't see the issue having a piss in the shower

user1464837504 · 07/06/2016 14:04

Sorry everyone...urine is NOT sterile.
Complete myth.

Nevertheless...its still ok!!!

Probably still cleaner than some of the other stuff we've getting in the shower to clean off!

TheHiphopopotamus · 07/06/2016 14:06

I'm with you OP. Although it's marginally better than weeing in the bath and then laying in it.

motherinferior · 07/06/2016 14:06

It is quite a joyous relief, peeing in the shower.

Wilberforce2 · 07/06/2016 14:09

I don't wee in the bath because I don't like to think I'm sitting in it and I rarely have baths anyway but I always wee in the shower, it's all going down the plug hole!

CathemeralChild · 07/06/2016 14:09

Do you think the ammonia in it would help stop the plughole from clogging up with grease and hair and soap gunk?
considers asking DH to start using the sink

HackerFucker22 · 07/06/2016 14:09

Pissing over oneself to be 'eco friendly' just seems unnecessary?

Just don't flush after every wee - I flush every 3rd wee or so and bet I save loads more water than you who piss in the shower.

OP posts:
Cherylene · 07/06/2016 14:09

Peeing on your feet is supposed to get rid of athlete's foot, I am told. Grin

BigDamnNCFail · 07/06/2016 14:10

YANBU

Even when it was thought urine was sterile, that was only until it comes out. Once it's out if you body and reacts with the air it certainly isn't. And more recent research suggests it's not even sterile inside the body, anyway.

I always have a wee before I shower and it only takes 10 minutes to shower (I think - I don't time myself) so I don't really understand the whole thing about suddenly being desperate in the shower.

I guess it does make sense from a water saving perspective but it still seems gross to me.

Philoslothy · 07/06/2016 14:10

Hacker I piss in the shower and I only flush after a shit or third piss so I am the environment queen.

ChicRock · 07/06/2016 14:13

I'd rather pee in the shower than leave a toilet full of piss for a few hours.

00100001 · 07/06/2016 14:13

I don't think you "piss over" yourself, do you? Confused

Grumpyoldblonde · 07/06/2016 14:14

I just can't help it, I wee too before I get in the shower but then the floodgates open and it just happens, wish it didn't but I can't help it.

YoungGirlGrowingOld · 07/06/2016 14:14

It grosses me out too and I have never been able to bath in a hotel since I found out it was a thing.... (I am probably odd though).

foxychox · 07/06/2016 14:15

Ummm, it's not sterile www.europeanurology.com/article/S0302-2838(15)00206-7/fulltext/-sterile-urine-and-the-presence-of-bacteria. That said, it is being instantly diluted by the shower water so no major risk of illness....

MyBreadIsEggy · 07/06/2016 14:15

Doesn't bother me.....
During my time in the army, we were actually told to piss on our feet to help with blisters - has the same effect as surgical spirit. Turns the skin on your feet into hooves in time! Doing it in the communal showers was the only way is girls could really get a good aim without making a mess! One time we were out on a field exercise and I had the most horrific blister of my life Sad no shower and no container (that I wouldn't later have to drink out of) to piss and and pour over my feet, so couldn't do it myself. I got my best mate to do it for me! Literally had to beg him and reassure him for hours afterwards that I wouldn't hold it against him that he had pissed on my foot!

InsufficientlyCaffeinated · 07/06/2016 14:19

I love a good shower wee. Not as much as a nature wee on a long hike though

And completely agree with pp who said "Personally I find the fact that we plumb in drinking water to flush a loo absolutely crazy! What not use grey water from washing machines, dishwashers, basins and showers?"

squoosh · 07/06/2016 14:20

YABU

Pissing in the shower is infinitely preferable to leaving the results of several bladder emptyings sitting in the toilet.

What's grim about brushing your teeth in the shower?

Thisisnotreallymyname · 07/06/2016 14:21

I were in shower - not a problem.

squoosh · 07/06/2016 14:22

Plus I'm sure pissing standing up is a more efficient way to wee. Bladder is more likely to fully empty.

eliednor · 07/06/2016 14:22

No, not grim.
Have you never done it then, OP. Wink

minipie · 07/06/2016 14:23

YABU. It's washed away in an instant, and it all ends up in the same place as the water from the loo anyway.

Although MyBread's story may explain why I have so much hard skin on my feet!

MamaBear98 · 07/06/2016 14:23

No you are definitely not being unreasonable -I'd freak out if I realised that someone was doing that in my shower Confused
