To not understand why anyone drinks wine?

Red wine tastes like vinegar. White wine tastes like toilet cleaner. Everytime I've drank rose I've had to hold my nose and get awful heartburn immediately. Prosecco and champagne are also equally disgusting. Now beer/ale/lager I love and will happily drink.

But seriously, why do so many people drink wine?

I really like wine and beer and lager for that matter, unfortunately can't drink at all because of migraines. It all brings out a migraine very quickly for me. The fortunate thing is that I have alcoholic tendencies and it's better that I don't drink any way.

Mind you, does anyone like the taste of Blue WKD? I can't imagine anyone over the age of 15 would be able stomach something that sugary.

HeffalumpHistory · 27/05/2016 21:55

I love a glass bottle of white wine.
In fact, I have a couple of Wine Wednesday threads Grin Wednesday tends to need some wine.
Can drink lager but not keen on beer/ale. Haven't drunk spirits for years!

Mind you, does anyone like the taste of Blue WKD?

All alcohol tastes vile to me tbh, i don't really drink anymore due to drunktwat-itis but when I do I wish I could getnover tye shame and drink blue WKD, 13 year old style

Abbinob · 27/05/2016 22:23

Whisky is 100% the worst though, we couldn't even drink that as teenagers (and we drank a lot of grim shit, vodkat mixed with cider and black current squash anyone?)
I remember mixing TOOTHPASTE in it to make it taste less grim. Anything that seems like it might be improved by putting toothpaste in it is all kinds of wrong

Doilooklikeatourist · 27/05/2016 22:25

I love a glass of wine , I also like a beer on a beach in the sunshine
If im thirsty , I like a glass of tap water
If you dont like wine , don't drink it

YABVVU.

Just finished the dregs of a bottle of red I opened, to share with DH, last night. Bloody delicious and I'm about to go and fish the other bottle out of the case.

Cheap wine is toilet cleaner, vinegary, usually suspiciously over-sweetened hangover fodder, mind. if you buy the £4 stuff, then YABU.

I don't like baileys, tia maria or chinzano. Lots of people do though (my mum's friends for example) and it doesn't have any impact on me. I like wine.

LaurieMarlow · 27/05/2016 22:32

Can't think of anything I like the taste of more TBH. does that make me an alcoholic?

StickTheDMWhereTheSunDontShine · 27/05/2016 22:44

Fortunately though cheese doesn't give rise to the same health and social problems that alcohol does.

You haven't smelt the farts that cheese gives me. Oh, lovely, lovely cheese, but the side effects... :(
