She wore this dress to the semi-finals of BFT

MangoMoon she carved her career out after marrying Les Dennis why deny it she done nothing before marrying him. Alesha Dixon is a far better role model than AH. A girl has to eat at the end of the day. Look at the amount of women out there trying to bag a footballer what is Les Dennis different. He helped her to get fame and now you pretend that she done it on her own. She was on Blind date before she met him thats it she was not a actress, singer or presenter.

You know what I am getting at don't be upset about the truth.

Jimjamjoos · 25/05/2016 13:11

Enid that is a very good picture of her teeth. When you see her on telly they do not look like that. She has perfectly run of the mill teeth. This is what surprises me. Yes, I would have thought she would have gone for the whole veneer look. I don't watch bgt but saw an advert for it and it made me think that all that surgery and effort but still the pointy teeth.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/05/2016 13:21

Shock at the Legs&Co clip from 1977 (not them , the song If you don't want to fuck me, Baby fuck off I was 11yo then and I don't remember that one)

No issues with AH but I can't stomach DW slimy pseudo creepy letch act.

male (young, mucled) contestant takes off items of clothing
DW "Have you got a second song" Bleurgh.

ricketytickety · 25/05/2016 13:24

She can wear what she likes.

But.....it does say something about our society when the women are dressed up to the nines and the men are all wearing suits (ant and Dec included). It gives the impression that men are powerful due to their personality whereas women are powerful due to their looks.

Thus a woman not so attractive and dressed in a suit might not appear on the panel as she would be deemed somehow not powerful enough. Like the lady who collected her award and called a bag lady because of her clothes/hair. It's inequality in action on prime time telly. Because anyone who doesn't fit the attractive mold would then be deemed not good enough, whereas a man who is not so attractive is fine because he is wearing a suit.

It's not woman bashing to question why women are judged more on their looks and less on their ability. Especially when the men so clearly aren't and the contrast is so stark. It is woman bashing to start dissecting that woman's look as if she isn't attractive and shouldn't be wearing the dress etc etc. It's not about how attractive she is, it's about why the women are judged on their attractiveness and the men aren't.

Actually, I would love to hear what Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon thinks about this. Would they be able to be honest...with their boss sitting up there with them? Or would they go along with it until it's all over for them and say 'yeah, we felt pressured to wear that stuff because we knew we were there for our looks aswell as our personalities/talent'

Legendofthephoenix · 25/05/2016 13:37

It's what women has to go through to keep the attention going. Remember when AD replaced that woman on SCD sorry don't know her name there was a debate about ageism. Women seem to have a sell by date.

I know AH more for being a personality on TV nothing else she is a likeable character.

Legendofthephoenix · 25/05/2016 13:38

I like Katy Price what you see is what you get she doesn't deny nothing. She is a shrewd business woman.

Pettywoman · 25/05/2016 13:48

I don't mind Alisha's outfit so much but that white dress is boggin. I say the same of Rachel Riley's dresses on Countdown. She's a beautiful woman but whoever dresses her should be sacked. Always just short and tight with garish colours and patterns. They look like Poundshop doll outfits.

Pettywoman · 25/05/2016 14:14

To add, I have no problem with the slebs, just the fashion.

MangoMoon · 25/05/2016 14:34

Legend, I stopped taking you seriously when you compared marrying Les Dennis to girls nowadays trying to bag a footballer!!

Do you realise who Les Dennis actually is?
He was as cringeworthy back in the 90s as he is now! (In fact he was more so back then).

Marrying Les Dennis was not exactly a stealthy strategy to catapult herself into the A list ffs.

Legendofthephoenix · 25/05/2016 14:39

I do like to wind people up I can't help myself.

EponasWildDaughter · 25/05/2016 14:59

Just to go back a bit, sorry;

Chippednailvarnishing Wed 25-May-16 10:15:15

Epona - ''Why do you wish you could walk round half naked all the time''?

Because I can, because I have the right to wear what I like, without being judged as too old or demeaning myself. Because British society allows women to express themselves through their clothes in whatever way the individual sees fit.

Which is good. So do you? Go about in 'sexy' revealing clothes to do the shopping ect?

The thing is it's all this 'if i had a body like hers i'd wear that dress to do x,y, z' stuff which is a bit vom to me. Even the young and beautiful don't tend do the tesco shop wearing a dress slashed to the waist with no knickers on. Well not round here anyway Grin

Chippednailvarnishing · 25/05/2016 15:04

Epona I think you have missed the point, it doesn't matter if you think its "vom". Women can dress how they want, if you start imposing your clothing rules on other people, how long before women are forced to cover themselves because other people deem it necessary?

and I live in TOWIE land and whilst I don't wear the clothes you describe (mainly due to lack of warmth) plenty of people do.

Bogeyface · 25/05/2016 16:03

I do like to wind people up I can't help myself.

Then may I, not at all respectfully, suggest you fuck off and do it somewhere else.

squoosh · 25/05/2016 16:06

The dress is pretty horrible. That combined with all the Crisp n Dry she's rubbed on her skin. Well.......I worry for her dry cleaning bills.

Legendofthephoenix · 25/05/2016 16:13
Sad
frumpet · 25/05/2016 16:16

So is the side part of the dress sewn in pants ? Tricky if you need a wee , unless you grew up in the 80's when you became adept at pulling your 'body' over to one side when urinating , ah thems were the days , well except for the associated nipple rub and pubes getting caught in the poppers Wink

Queenbean · 25/05/2016 16:21

WHY exactly do we need to see bare backs, legs, bare anything?

Because when it's summer and hot I like to wear shorts. I'm dressing for myself and comfort, not to be all sexy for a man.

i'd listen to a woman in a polo neck or lumberjack shirt

how exactly does that make them more qualified on any particular subject?

Hey, if I had that body, i would....

HandsomeGroomGiveHerRoom · 25/05/2016 16:36

I imagine the lack of pubes these days makes the whole popper thing less of a problem this time around, although the bush did offer a little padding.

Inkanta · 25/05/2016 16:45

I guess she's an extrovert and good at her job on that panel.

Can't deny she has a gorgeous figure. Would love her legs.

A bit jealous.

Osolea · 25/05/2016 17:49

I don't think its true that men aren't judged on their looks, or their clothes.

People judge other people, but that's just human nature. It's not a problem as long as you don't let your first impression of someone's appearance dictate your entire opinion of them.

I think OP might have a point if all attractive women on telly always dressed in very revealing clothes, but they don't, nor are they expected to.

Yes there are different dress rules for men and women, but so what? Men and women are different, and personally, I like being the sex that has a lot of choice about what to wear rather than having to always wear a shirt to look smart.

squoosh · 25/05/2016 18:01

The main thing I notice about the judges' clothes is the fact that Simon Cowell looks like the boy from Big after he's changed back from being a man. His trousers are ridiculously long for him!

FoxSticks · 25/05/2016 18:41

I think the side bit is hiding a high wasted thong frumpet.
