She wore this dress to the semi-finals of BFT

Would a burka be acceptable?

DaisyArcher · 24/05/2016 22:49

no, the deal is that the men wear suits and the women dress like hookers. It's depressing.

Well of course she can wear what she likes. It's a shame she doesn't wear something beautiful and classy.

And if she dressed to please you, there would be other people saying that outfit was not beautiful or classy Confused

You can't please everyone, which is why I'm glad she's chosen to please herself.

PPie10 · 24/05/2016 22:49

'Demean herself' Hmmoh give it a rest. Why are you so offended on their behalf. Doubt they care what you think. I think both women look great.

Smurfling43 · 24/05/2016 22:50

Daisy have you never heard the phrase . " "If you can't say anything nice , don't say anything at all " ?

MrsJayy · 24/05/2016 22:50

The dresses are horrible though the slit tothe belly buttons creations last night were worse

WellErrr · 24/05/2016 22:50

They should just wear poloneck jumpers and slacks.

Or better yet, stay at home with the kids and let the classy men do it, eh? Tsk.

RJnomore1 · 24/05/2016 22:50

You'd think they could both afford the rest of the outfit on their salaries.

Oh god I've turned into my dad - I'll get me coat

Dress like hookers jesus christ seriously

WorraLiberty · 24/05/2016 22:52

Actually ^^ is depressing.

Would you rather they all dressed like they came straight out of Downton Abbey?

MistressMerryWeather · 24/05/2016 22:55

Do hookers tend to favour floor length toga dresses?

Do you mean Roman hookers? Because the men liked a toga back then too.

MrsJayy · 24/05/2016 22:55

I just think they need to sack thedesigner/stylist and give them proper outfits

MistressMerryWeather · 24/05/2016 22:55

I wish everyone dressed like they were starring in Downton Abbey. Sad

BastardGoDarkly · 24/05/2016 22:58

I thought the red dress Alesha wore (was it last night?) Backless anyway, was absolutely stunning.

I'm not as keen on Amanda's white one here, but they've both got fantastic figures, they're on the telly, I want them to wear something striking, I see enough suits, leggings, and jeans with boots on the school run.

HooseRice · 24/05/2016 22:58

I think they both looked lovely.

DH thinks Amanda is turning into Joanna Lumley (boost for AH)

My elderly gran wasn't keen on Alesha's stockings (or were they boots).

If I had either of their figures I'd wear bikinis to every event Grin

NinaSimoneful · 24/05/2016 22:59

I think Aleshas boots would've worked better in brown rather than black and Amandas dress would have been nicer without the big wide slit but both women are gorgeous anyway.

MrsJayy · 24/05/2016 22:59

Id swoosh about in downton clothes and i would have a parasol to promenade Grin

WorraLiberty · 24/05/2016 23:00

Whilst I agree it's depressing that men are more likely to be kept in the public eye, despite going grey/bald/wrinkly and women are not...

I find it far more depressing when Mumsnetters start sharpening their claws and spouting bile about other women's choice of dress and hair/make-up etc.

But give it five minutes and someone will be along to blame the patriarchy and the media, for women and teenage girls feeling self conscious....

There are a lot of women on this forum who are really down on themselves about their bodies and their image. Lots of threads where women are afraid to go to a wedding/party/beach, because they're afraid of being judged so harshly.

Yet, I've never seen men judge women as harshly as some of the women on Mumsnet do.

Chippednailvarnishing · 24/05/2016 23:00

I'd wear bikinis to every event

You can't do that you'll demean yourself Wink

MrsJayy · 24/05/2016 23:01

They have fantastic figures they are stunning women

Chippednailvarnishing · 24/05/2016 23:02

Well look on the bright side Worra at least I think you're hot Grin

Chipped, I'm going to see if Amanda's dress comes in hi-vis yellow, so I can wear it to work on my school crossing Grin

That'll stop the traffic and not for good reasons Grin
