To think that a cat doesn't actually need a name?

I've unintentionally adopted a stray kitten recently, who is lovely. I thought about giving him a name, but actually on reflection, it seems silly. He doesn't care or know the difference, and it just means that I have to call out something when letting him in. People have told me that I should name him, but it seems silly. He doesn't care. I would actually feel ridiculous calling out 'Harry' or whatever, from my doorstep. It's a cat. I don't have kids btw, so this doesn't impact any little people. (If I did, I'd let them decide on one). AIBU?

Where I work we have 5/6 proper feral cats - they're great at keeping the vermin down but the vets bills are a problem. Anyway, they are:

Cat 1 - Mother cat to all others, tortoiseshell, no name but I call her 'missy', lovely
Cat 2 - Daughter of mother cat, black, no name but friendly'ish', lovely nature
Cat 3 - Son of mother cat, black, REALLY fluffy, gorgeous, skinny but nice - called 'Kong', lovely nature
Cat 4 - Odd one - daughter of mother cat, black - very feral and no name - can't get near
Cat 5 - Tabby, son of mother cat - gorgeous and solid but tricky - called 'Roy' - nice but beware fingers!

We've had to deal with a few others and their offspring as they weren't well. That was horrible but now all cats dealt with (spayed/neutered). TattyCat was my favourite but he had feline AIDS so the RSPCA pts, unfortunately. He was scabby but the most loving cat you could meet - didn't understand why he just turned up one day but he had a good 6 months with us before we brought in the vets!

I just did the generic 'puss puss' noise & this idiot appeared. I thought he was asleep in the garden!
