To think the 28 days 28 weeks later films are the best zombie films?

Home alone with grumpy teething baby, luckily he's slept lots and while I could be using his sleeping time to clean, I used it to watch 28 days later and 28 weeks later. They were made 2002 and 2007 and are by far my favourite zombie films. Avid walking dead fan as well.
Maybe it's because I was a fresh faced 18 year old when it first came out and I associate it with being able to go to the cinema whenever I wanted?!

28 Days is brilliant.

It's very beautiful and atmospheric.

28 Weeks slightly less so.

Verticalvenetianblinds · 30/04/2016 15:10

Isn't that always the way with sequels tho?!

I agree with Trills. 28 Day; great. 28 Weeks; meh.

Try the original Night of the Living Dead. It's awesome.

gamerchick · 30/04/2016 15:12

They are awesome, I wore out my 28 days later disc.

They're not really proper zombie films though, I know there's the whole forth gen zombie thing but zombies die first, these are infected with a virus,

Oysterbabe · 30/04/2016 15:13

I don't like it because it has fast zombies. Zombies should be slow.

gamerchick · 30/04/2016 15:14

Wasn't 28 weeks US made though rather than British? They always struggle really to immitate Imo.

Verticalvenetianblinds · 30/04/2016 15:14

But idris Alba is in 28 weeks (automatically makes it good) Blush

World war z is the forth gen zombie thing. I disagree with that argument. Zombies don't run.

gamerchick · 30/04/2016 15:22

Fourth even.

DraenorQueen · 30/04/2016 15:22

Agree 28 days is absolutely awesome. Wouldn't call them zombies as such... But I love anything post apocalyptic. Anyone know if The Stand is still being remade?

Trills · 30/04/2016 15:33

Don't use the Z word... :o

Littleallovertheshop · 30/04/2016 15:34

Im desperate to see the Secret Cinema 28 days later but alas I'm too broke

Trills · 30/04/2016 15:39

I am going next week...

duckyisback · 30/04/2016 15:48

Yabu.

Return of the living dead is the best zombie film Grin

Followed by the original dawn of the dead and remake.

duckyisback · 30/04/2016 15:48

Oh oh oh and brain dead!!!

Verticalvenetianblinds · 30/04/2016 15:58

Haven't seen brain dead, worth watching then?

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 30/04/2016 16:03

Shaun of the dead is by far the best zombie movie.

ghostyslovesheep · 30/04/2016 16:15

also Zombieland and Cockneys V Zombies!

I also like WWZ (yes I KNOW it's nothing like the book (read it 6 times)) but the ending is shit

28 days is good - scary as well - not my fave though

GoEasyPudding · 30/04/2016 16:25

I really like the 2004 Dawn of The Dead directed by Zack Snyder. The opening scene, a montage of disaster and the end of times news type footage with Johnny Cash music is excellent.

BowiesJumper · 30/04/2016 16:29

Love 28 days later. Not a zombie film though as others have said!

Looking forward to the Nick Carter penned syfy effort with 90's boyband members v zombies in the Wild West. (Note syfy- so think sharknado)

I Am Legend (will Smith) is a great zombie flick

deVelvet · 30/04/2016 16:33

We are absolutely gripped by The Walking Dead right now. DP and I have just watched season 1-5 back to back. On season 6 now.

Have never really like zombie movies before as I was too scared but gonna have to go back and watch wwz and 28 days/weeks.

deVelvet · 30/04/2016 16:34

Oh yes. I am legend too
