YABU

That is all. Grin I love it.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/04/2016 18:24

One of the few occasions where the film is better than the book, too.

VestalVirgin · 23/04/2016 18:25

I didn't find it that great, either. It is rather entertaining, and it has some really nice parts (the duel was hilarious), but it is not one of my favourite books.

You are not alone.

PuntasticUsername · 23/04/2016 18:28

Inconceivable!

SauvignonBlanche · 23/04/2016 18:28

I don't understand, how can you not love it? Confused

I don't think YABU just misguided. Wink

ThePrincessButtercup · 23/04/2016 18:29

As you wish.

DoreenLethal · 23/04/2016 18:29

So bad it is good type of thing.

WhereYouLeftIt · 23/04/2016 18:31

I didn't even know it was a book until several years after I'd seen the film!

Luffs the film. YABU Grin

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 23/04/2016 18:31

YABU.

44PumpLane · 23/04/2016 18:32

Quit it now I mean it!!

Anybody wanna peanut?!

YABVVVU...... It's a classic!

(Though I imagine it's like all these "classic" 80's films, that they're only truly excellent if you remember them from back in the day. A colleague of mine saw The Goonies for the first time as an adult and thought it was naff, they are obviously wrong, but of course it's all in the eye of the beholder)! :)

Needmorechocolate · 23/04/2016 18:33

YABU

soapboxqueen · 23/04/2016 18:36

Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die.

I only watched it for the first time 5-6 years ago and loved it. So funny.

Anniegetyourgun · 23/04/2016 18:39

It's one of those "each to their own" situations innit. I love The Princess Bride but can forgive you for failing to appreciate it your loss. The Goonies, on the other hand, I found pretty ghastly (though to be fair I don't think I ever watched it properly).

soapboxqueen · 23/04/2016 18:40

The goonies was seriously edited for TV.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 23/04/2016 18:43

"Ah, but there's one thing you don't know. I am not left handed!"

"There's something I've got to tell you"

"?"

"I'm not left handed either"

YABU!

MintyChapstick · 23/04/2016 18:47

I agree with you OP. It completley bypassed my as a child, and I'm not sure how really because it seems to be my age who love it but I didn't actually watch it until I was an adult myself. I found it a bit shit as well if I'm honest. I don't get Labrynth with David Bowie either

The Goonies however is fabulous, and I refuse to hear a word said against it!

GinAndSonic · 23/04/2016 18:50

The Princess Bride is outstanding, and I only saw it two years ago at the ripe old age of 27. Yabu.

Longtalljosie · 23/04/2016 18:52

You keep using that word.

I don't think it means what you think it means...

00100001 · 23/04/2016 18:55

I must point out, I want to likenit, my best friend thinks it's the greatest!

I bet the OP has six fingers...

BigMamaFratelli · 23/04/2016 18:55

I've been off work all week with a poorly dd2 and we must have watched it at least a dozen times over the last five days. I still luffs it Grin
And as a grown up have found out some of it was filmed near where we live, so that adds a whole new dimension.

I want my father back, you son of a bitch.
