It just doesn't appear as professional as I was hoping for I guess. It looks wonky and the fondant icing looks badly done. I was so hoping for it to be amazing.

It looks awful. Garish and vulgar, with nothing on it relating to the Queen or her birthday. Nothing against Nadiya who looks lovely, but the cake is awful!

Chippednailvarnish · 21/04/2016 22:10

Pan are you going to give her aptamil too? Grin

The cake didn't look wonky on the news at ten...

Owllady · 21/04/2016 22:10

Lol at garish and vulgar
She's made what the queen wanted her to make! Dirty queen

Thornrose · 21/04/2016 22:12

I thought it looked rank Confused rank? What do you mean?

Katarzyna79 · 21/04/2016 22:14

I doubt she was allowed to design it herself doesnt look like something shed dream.up. is itmeant to be a trio of hrh's hat collection???. I dont like the colours either but well done to her for getting such an opportunity!

Now who in wardrobe thght it was a good idea toput nadia in a turban style scarf,i think she looks better in her usual hijab style i reckon this was not her choice....if it was then ill eat my words....

WorraLiberty · 21/04/2016 22:16

I must admit I don't know what sort of cake I was expecting to see, but it wasn't that Confused

It just looked a bit....I don't know. Not fit for the occasion?

Don't ask me why though Grin

Owllady · 21/04/2016 22:17

She has been wearing it like that on tv

Heidi42 · 21/04/2016 22:18

what it says on the label, Rank, as in like a giant purple shit, worthy of Willy Wonka

cosytoaster · 21/04/2016 22:18

It looks rubbish, wonky and weirdly coloured.

WorraLiberty · 21/04/2016 22:18

She was wearing the turban style last week on Loose Women.

Would you like gravy with your words? Grin

Radyward · 21/04/2016 22:18

She had a purple and cream cloth covered tiers on her show stopper to win the bake off but I wasn't mad on it but she seems to have done the same thing here. Sorry nadia totally out of her depth.

raisedbyguineapigs · 21/04/2016 22:18

When I heard she was doing an orange drizzle cake, I thought it would be too soft to then ice, what with the syrup on it, and far too sweet. But I'm sure it would have tasted lovely. I thought it looked fine. Just a bit wonky though. I'm not sureif that was the angle the ppicture was taken, or because I was right and it's just too soft?

you're suggesting someone in wardrobe said her hijab was a bit boring and would she prefer a more turban style scarf... and Nadia agreed!! She is just trying something different or something we haven't seen before but she might have worn loads before.

WakeUpFast · 21/04/2016 22:27

What's wrong with Nadia's turban style head covering? I think it looked very new age and suited the type of clothes she was wearing. She's worn it like that before as well.

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 21/04/2016 22:30

I'm a big fan of turbans.

CrackerChops · 21/04/2016 22:30

I actually like the colours she's used. Shame about the wonkiness of it, but in all fairness it was probably the heat.

WakeUpFast · 21/04/2016 22:33

The heat? In England in April? Where it was snowing last Saturday? Grin Come on..there was no "heat". It wasn't put together properly Grin

Owllady · 21/04/2016 22:33

She can wear what she wants can't she? Confused
Her neck doesn't have to be covered does it? Obviously it's useful in Leeds as there is such a cold wind and you wouldn't want to catch a chill on your throat, just like it's not advisable to go with wet hair as according to my mother, you'll die

member · 21/04/2016 22:36

Just been watching news on delay after earlier pause - cake didn't look wonky. Feel sorry for Nadyia, if you're asked to bake for the Queen, you can't really say no. She was nervous beforehand & now it's being slated, bet she wishes she'd broken with protocol and said no!

Owllady · 21/04/2016 22:38

I think she's luffley :)

Armi · 21/04/2016 22:44

It's cake. The Queen is not going to shout, 'What's this fucking pile of crap?!?!' Smiles all round and back to the castle for a Kitkat instead.

bakeoffcake · 21/04/2016 22:46

It's has been warm down south the last few days. I sat in the garden yesterday and it was really sunny.

I reckon .............

"Someone left the cake out in the rain sun and I don't think that I can fake it, cos it took so long to bake it, and I'll never have that recipe again" Sad

TheAlchemist101 · 21/04/2016 22:50

lets get one thing 100% clear: the cake is wonky

no camera angles/no "it looked fine on the telly"/it was the heat - why it's wonky only Nadia knows but it is wonky - I'm sure the papers will do a whole story on why...

FearOfFlying · 21/04/2016 22:52

Looks much nicer in fratelli's picture. Could this be the media being meanies Shock and showing a crap pic of it?

notonyurjellybellynelly · 21/04/2016 22:53
