Apparently this is home to some of the "most illiterate.... harridans" online. That's the comment he's just made on this morning's show. Is it intended to be tongue in cheek and I've just not got the joke? or does he genuinely think this site is a pile of shit despite the fact that threads topics on here are often fished for topical discussion on his show.

I think it is partially his idea of a joke but also his shadow side coming out. I feel he is projecting somewhat. He does appear to not like parents much, but he and his ex-wife went through IVF, so presumably wanted kids at one time. I think he has his own issues really and also it is part of his brand and TV persona.

NNalreadyinuse · 15/04/2016 11:49

Itsmine, there are people out there who have sex dreams about David Cameron or Richard Madeley. My Kevin crush could be a lot worse Grin

I think he comes across as a very down to earth person with no airs about him unlike Eamonn Holmes other male presenters.

I don't always agree with him and sometimes he can be quite rude to people who phone in but he also does a good job at cutting off some of the bigoted people they get ringing in.

I think the comments about 'breeders' and mn are all part of a tv persona and are mainly tongue in cheek although his sarcasm doesn't always translate well.

I don't really mind him, I watch his show and enjoy it. Don't always enjoy the guests he has on though.

I hate that Lowri Turner. Her voice gets on my breasts.

Capricorn76 · 15/04/2016 14:35

Is Lowri Turner still on it?! I haven't seen the programme for years but I thought she would've slinked away following the uproar she caused after admitting she didn't feel close to her daughter because she wasn't blond or something like that.

The funny thing is people are always insulting about others "grammar" on here but then someone else insults you over it and you get upset lol irony.
The fact that certain people on here seem to believe that only someone who types in English is "intelligent" shows matthew wright was RIGHT #JUSTSAYING

Would it be immature to point out the missing apostrophe after "others" and frankly bizarre use of quotation marks around the word grammar?

I suspect it would!

He said
"home of some of the most illiterate, fowl mouth harridans online -
I cant show you a lot of what was said because it was badly spell sexual language"

here ...take that chicken out of your gob please

A joke / pun based on the mis-use of fowl vs foul or did you take my tongue-in-cheek post seriously?

AdrenalineFudge · 15/04/2016 15:53

Godwin's Law of policing grammar: A person is almost always going to make a mistake Grin

A typo here or there doesn't matter, autocorrect can be a real pain sometimes but use of 'would of' or 'could of' does give me the stabby rage.

@AdrenalineFudge - or several, but an image of a mug, highlighting the ignorance of it means your aloud to make mistakes Grin

SideOrderofChip · 15/04/2016 16:01

I have no idea who he is. I googled

Still have no idea who he is.

GreenishMe · 15/04/2016 16:08

I wasn't aware that you'd made a pun here....my comment was aimed someone else tbh.

I clearly am an illiterate foul-mouthed harridan don't understand what's going on.

I'll shut up Sad

Onedaftmonkey · 15/04/2016 16:13

I think it's all part of his tv persona. He bangs on about breeders and children using up vital resources and their overconsumption of resorces. Yet it's well publicised that he and his wife have desperately tried to have kids had ivf ect. It's a slow news week. I blame his researchers who trawl/troll sites such as this to get topics and reactions. Ok he's a journalist but I seriously doubt he comes up with half the stuff on their. I love the show personally. And would rather watch that than Jeremy Vile any day.
