Wrong, wrong wrong.

Lamb and watermelon salad - wrong.
Chicken and mango - very very wrong indeed.
Sultanas in a curry...really, must you?
Pork belly with rhubarb and cucumber - just why would you?

Ham and pineapple pizza - fine, okay then, if you must. Pineapple on a gammon steak - why would you if you could have a dippy egg? But once again, if you absolutely must.

AIBU?

Meat and jam is vile (turkey and cranberry, pork and apple sauce).

All lamb is rank so with the addition of any fruit, even worse.

coconut is ok with curry but only as coconut oil or in a sambal.

(don't get me started on chocolate and fruit - bleugh)

I hate hate hate fruit and main meal food together. Coconut is vile stuff too.

Sweet things are for puddings only.

Why you'd ruin pizza with pineapple or curry with raisins or pork with apple I have no idea. Cheese with fruit in? No thanks.

Surely good old fashioned pork and apple sauce is ok?
And if we're going to be picky about the fruit / veg status of tomatoes, what about bacon and tomatoes?

YABU but my favourite dish of all time is bananas wrapped in ham and baked in a cheese sauce so perhaps I'm biased. Ultimate comfort food - lovely hot gooey banana cheese ham goodness!

Hate pineapple on pizza! I thought it must be the worst pizza topping ever till we went to a pizza place that had banana in the list of toppings. Banana?!?!

Apple in salad.
Orange in soup.
Sweet potato
Cranberry sauce which is essentially just jam with meat.
Apricots with lamb
Honey glaze or any kind of sweet sauce.

All kinds of wrong. I hate a main meal to be sweet.

Anything with strawberries - evil

Eww, yes, honey glazed veg are all sorts of wrong too.

I can do veg glazed wth honey - but it wants some stock, or salt, or salt and pepper and herbs to balance that shiz out!

It's still not fruit though.

BTW the Chicken and Mango reference came from an incident which occurred when I was a teen (henceforth known as the Chicken and Mango incident) when we went to a family friend for dinner and she had a chicken and mango "ready meal" (they didn't really exist those days in the country I came from, it was more like a takeaway plastic rectangle thing you get from a deli) which she heated in a microwave and flobbed out onto a plate.

She served it with "scalloped" potatoes, the one where you peel it, slice it but not completely, and put butter and cream on top and bake it in the oven. Well, she was on Weight Watchers so she just lobbed the peeled sliced potato in the microwave and drizzled some skimmed milk over it.

My Dad's face was like a disappointed dog but he managed to hide it before she clocked it

Then she asked him if he wanted some fat free yogurt to go with it

I'm not keen on sweet veg either, parsnips, sweet potatoes etc. I'll eat them but would not choose them over say brocolli or sprouts.
