Fruit I expect - it''s vegetables in cake recipes I've now found since having DC that took me by surprise. Courgettes in chocolate cake being a now favourite.

YANBU fruit and neat should never be eaten with the exception of melon and Parma ham.

I love Moroccan style lamb, except it's always got blooming dried apricots in it so I can't have it.

The only exception I can think of is duck with plum sauce,but plum sauce doesn't actually taste of plums. As to pineapple on pizza, it's an abomination.

Curry and bananas - no no no. Makes me think of our dear old Mum, her curries were full of bananas and sultanas and really reminded me of fruit salad with curry sauce {grin}

I eat tomato with nearly everything, havent you eaten it with a fry up? Thats got meat in it.
I use to get from a cafe an avocado and bacon sandwich was nice.
It depends really on the fruit, with the suggestions you made above they dont sound very nice.

It's absolutely delicious Nancy, I promise.

It also contains peanut butter and cooks down to a lovely satay-type sauce.

ive never had sultanas in a curry but sultanas in pilaus and biryanis are devine and quite normal, in Asian and middle eastern food, surprisingly tasty. we used to add sultanas and almond to our pilaus growing up i still do that's how i was taught.

ive used raw mango in curry, is used by Chinese, thai, indopaks, also good in salads.

not weird really, is duck and plum weird lots of folks eat that? ive never tried it but my cousin has had it a few times because her husband makes it ,she says its delicious is it?

banna curry as in plantain? ive used plantain in curry it takes a bit like something in between edoes and potatoes if cooked in a curry, not bad.

but grilled plantain with just a lick of oil is pure comfort food served with jolof rice its devine!

ive come across watermelon curry not convinced to cook it yet though i reckon id be the only one eating it lol i wonder is it a curry or more like a spicy salad?

Is the chicken and mango hot? If so I don't think I could, hot mango seems to close to the evils of pineapple on pizza. But chicken and mango cold is ok with me

In most cases OP YADNBU blocks out memories of pork casserole with pineapple or savoury rice with sultanas in. Who the hell taught my mother to cook?

Nope - sorry have to have the bananas in the curry - you can blame my Mum - banana, sultanas, desecrated coconut all staples.

YANBU. This is a huge pet hate of mine which I think started with duck a la orange....why oh why oh why would anyone think that combination worked? I was an excited eight year old told by my mum how posh and delicious it was. It wasn't.

Then again this is the mum that one year later when I wanted to eat steak in a restaurant for the first time, ordered me a halibut steak. 30 years later and i'm still disappointed with that meal.
