Got that off my chest.

OP posts:
QueenLaBeefah · 13/03/2016 14:36

Waiting times are slightly longer in Scotland than England. I know anecdote doesn't mean data but I find it absolutely impossible to get a gp appointment. Still, someone earning £50k can get free penicillin.

Teenagers in poor areas of England are much more likely to go to university than their equivalents in Scotland

Hundreds of thousands of further education places were cut to pay for free university fees. In effect poorer kids are having their futures sacrificed to put rich kids through university.

Police Scotland is a shambles.
National 5 exams a disaster.
Named persons dubious.
GERs figures terrifying.

To be fair, though, the 5p charge for plastic bags has been very successful.

YANBU OP

Anniegetyourgun · 13/03/2016 14:39

MPs not thinking for themselves is a fine tradition. This, from 1878:

"I grew so rich that I was sent
By a pocket borough into Parliament.
I always voted at my party's call,
And I never thought of thinking for myself at all.
I thought so little, they rewarded me
By making me the Ruler of the Queen's Navee!"

(HMS Pinafore, Gilbert and Sullivan, obviously)

bloodymaria · 13/03/2016 14:49

Don't vote for them then op, it's not hard.

They're obviously doing something right, unlike Cameron and his cronies.

harrasseddotcom · 13/03/2016 15:05

And again i will reiterate, what is the positive campaign for the other parties? Repeating SNP Bad isnt going to change SNP voters minds. In fact its rather condescending. I know what SNP policies are and why I am voting for them. If you want me to vote for another party, give me reasons to vote for that other party that aren't SNP bad. You know like, vote Tory/LAbour/whatever because they believe in ........... [insert relevant party policy]. If it is what i personally advocate, then there is a chance my vote might swing the other way.

harrasseddotcom · 13/03/2016 15:09

I also think its kinda funny people going on about toeing the party line. Because I see how well received Corbyn's voting history was.

Maturecheddarcheese · 13/03/2016 15:21

ffs YABU

breezydoesit · 13/03/2016 20:50

harrassed by name harrassed by nature. Like I said before, they border on national socialism, the very notion of which turns my stomach. Their complete inability to spend wisely (I.e underspending on the NHS budget) and insistence on blaming Westminster when the healthcare budget was devolved to them again makes me want to roll my eyes so hard they do a 360 turn in my head. They're an abomination.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 13/03/2016 20:58

It's a good thing there is an election coming up and all the voters on this thread can rise with the population of Scotland and vote the SNP out.

Who should we lend our vote to? Tories, Lib Dems.or Labour?

Strictlyobsessed · 13/03/2016 21:17

YANBU I hate that they almost divided Scotland at the last referendum, I had to hope that the No voters were the silent majority luckily it turned out we were. However this will not stop them from holding another one in the future I cannot be the only one who thinks it's ironic they want to stay in Europe , saying we are stronger together when all they wanted to do was split up the UK. I really cannot see any benefits to Scotland with them in charge and they have had plenty of time now , centralising NHS services into a superhospital has left the casualty dept at the new Queen Elizabeth in a shambles , primary classes are still too big and everyone knows the problems at Police Scotland .

cheeseandcrackers77 · 13/03/2016 21:23

I haven't decided who to vote for and until the manifestos are out I won't. The unfortunate situation the non indy supporters have is our votes are split over 3 parties therefore it will be difficult to vote the SNP out.

On some sites where people discuss their voting intentions some SNP supporters are actually being very rude to pro indy supporters who want to vote green or rise telling them it's a waste of time they won't get in that they are trying to split the SNP vote and reducing their support. I think this is disgusting behaviour and frankly who wants to be ruled by a party full of supporters who won't tolerate anyone voting for someone else.

Of course not all SNP supporters are like this but sadly the party has to waken up and see the harm a lot of their supporters are doing. Look up the Scottish Resistence they are a bloody embarrassment.

Iggi999 · 13/03/2016 21:27

What brought this on today OP?

museumum · 13/03/2016 21:35

I think they might be about the best of a bad bunch. But I don't think it's good for the govt to have such a huge majority they can't lose votes in parliament so I'll be looking for somebody else to vote for. I will probably go by the individual candidates in my area in the end.

MrsAmaretto · 13/03/2016 21:39

YANBU. I will not vote SNP.

My current bugbear is the fact they propose to raise my council tax because we are in the top 4 bands (new build house). Obviously we should pay more as our house cost more clearly we must have lots of disposable income. Perhaps we'll be rebanded once house prices drop from next week once BP makes us & our neighbour's redundant.......

Thank god we're not independent with the way the oil slump is hitting us.

AgentProvocateur · 13/03/2016 21:47

Genuine question, if you "hate" the SNP and aren't a Tory, who will you vote for in May? Slab are a joke, and Scot Lib Dems are invisible.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 13/03/2016 21:52

agent I think this thread shows that there is a huge groundswell of hatred for the SNP, and I think that it is extremely likely this will result in a huge resurgence of the Lib Dems and of Labour.

I can confidently predict that Labour/Conservatives will form a majority coalition, with the LibDems coming in third and the SNP trailing just ahead of the greens.

I think it is fairly obvious that Salmond and Sturgeon are ordering their cybernats to domjnate all social media, and obviously the SNP have infiltrated all of the main polling organisations - the results coming out are far to ridiculous to be believed.

QueenLaBeefah · 13/03/2016 21:55

I'm probably going to vote lib dems. They've been punished enough.

I'm generally a floating voter so tend to vote for the party that has least annoyed me recently.

QueenLaBeefah · 13/03/2016 21:56

Yy to cybernats dominating social media.

As soon as you see the phrase "SNP bad" it is generally a huge give away. Wink

APlaceOnTheCouch · 13/03/2016 22:02

ItsAll fancy a wager on that prediction you just made? I'm loving the idea of a Labour/Con coalition and a resurgence in the LibDems but can see absolutely nothing to support it in current voting patterns or trends.

The only place I find this virulent anti-SNP rhetoric is on social media. It's not in RL. That may be why the support for the SNP still takes the haters by surprise. It's easy to create an echo chamber on social media but it doesn't necessarily translate into votes.

QueenLaBeefah can you please share the links, reports or statistics that support your assertions? TIA

QueenLaBeefah · 13/03/2016 22:03

Sorry can't be arsed. HTH

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 13/03/2016 22:16

Oh, I'm very confident in my predictions. It's obvious that the handful of sane people on this thread is in fact representative of the population of Scotland - and the polls are massively wrong.

The SNP only got their seats last time by lacing the drinking water with a mild neurotoxin (or was it chemtrails?) and then exposing the Scottish population to subliminal advertising during every edition of Question Time (the BBC are obviously also in cahoot with the SNP).

Brothers and sisters - if we stand together against the illusion of a mighty SNP we will see then fall at the next election, and oh what a fall it shall be Grin.

Our great nation under Ruth Davidson, or the latest Labour one, or the Lib Dem ones whos name I can't remember... We will be a great nation, within a greater UK.

Down with the dastardly SNP!

APlaceOnTheCouch · 13/03/2016 22:21

Yes it does 😀 Sometimes on threads like this I wonder if posters are presenting opinions or facts. They might have forgotten to link or they might be making unsubstantiated accusations. I like to give the benefit of the doubt.

I'll leave you to vent in peace without any pesky facts getting in the way.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 13/03/2016 22:23

ItsAll if only you were proposing Ruth to replace Cameron. I think she'd make an excellent leader of the UK Tory party. She is a Star

trixymalixy · 13/03/2016 22:24

I think I'm voting labour. It's clear with the deficit that we either need to cut or raise taxes so I was pleased when they suggested a penny on income tax with a rebate for the lower paid. It showed up the SNP for what they are, voting with the Tories against it and LYING about it not being progressive when anyone with half a brain can see that it is. Yet their followers sucked it all in and believed it when the maths shows otherwise. Astonishing. Hope over maths we call it in my house.

Likewise with the SNPs u turn on abolishing council tax. I was pleased to see a wee bit of a waver on social media when that one was announced. 9 years and they come up with that disappointment.

trixymalixy · 13/03/2016 22:25

I wish you were right itsallgoingtobefine, but sadly I don't think you will be.
