AIBU - pants at night

So reading the bedding thread there seems to be the suggestion that some people don't wear pants at night. Shock This is seriously a pearl clutching moment for me.

So AIBU to ask - doesn't everybody wear pants at night, whether or not they sleep otherwise naked or wear PJ's? And wouldn't your sheets or PJ's need more frequent washing if you don't wear pants at night?

I don not want my fanjo constantly wrapped, it needs air!

Orangeanddemons · 10/03/2016 21:13

I cannot bear pants or pyjama bottoms. They make me itchy and hot. I wish I did like them, because I see so many lovely pjs. But they make me feel all twisted and wriggly.

ScarletForYa · 10/03/2016 21:18

I'm very scared 😨

Crustyness, inside-out labias, something unmentionable that might happen due to the pelvic floor after menopause...

ScarletForYa · 10/03/2016 21:19

I'm clinging tight to my pants, hoping to keep everything neat and tidy inside. 😱

Sparklingbrook · 10/03/2016 21:20

Pants are not airtight. Unless they are made of Tupperware or something. Confused

Eliza22 · 10/03/2016 21:22

Knickers. And a smile.

LoveBoursin · 10/03/2016 21:26

No pants for me either (unless heavy ish periods).
DH sleeps in the nude.

dc1 seems to have decided he will be wearing pants under his pj probably following what he saw at a sleepover.
Tbh, I thik it's gross, increases the washing and is just uncomfortable.

I'm Grin at all the pearl clutching going on.

BigQueenBee · 10/03/2016 21:27

I always wear pants at night. PJ's or nightie are for when I get up or change from my work clothes.
I often do the school run in PJ's tucked into my jeans, with a fleece over to hide the fact I'm a slob.

PuppyMonkey · 10/03/2016 21:31

What ghastly ectoplasmic fluid are you expecting to gush forth all night from your fundament?

This is the best thing that has ever been written anywhere. Grin

(I wear a pair of nice clean pants - I am happy with my choice).

PacificDogwod · 10/03/2016 21:34

Am I weird in that what my undercarriage wears varies? Sometimes from night to night?

Nighties with and without knickers, oversized t-shirts/PJ tops with or without knickers, but never PJ tops AND bottoms (too twisty, sticky and hot).

I did not realise that I had to commit to one way of sleeping or another Grin

murmuration · 10/03/2016 21:36

I usually wear pants, but not recently, as I've had recurrent UTI's and so I am going for the airing.

But I've been wearing nighties or nothing without pants. I don't get no-pants and PJ's - don't you get some rather uncomfortable wedgies that way?

Eliza22 · 10/03/2016 21:38

Thanks for this thread OP....t'is making me chuckle! Smile

witsender · 10/03/2016 21:41

I hate sleeping in knickers, so uncomfy! I always find the dog in and twist round etc. But I do wear pjs every night.

lamiashiro · 10/03/2016 21:45

Gosh. What a polarisation of opinion! I sleep naked, as does DH. Our bedding and nether regions are non-crusty and clean. Surely no-one actually wipes their vag on their sheets.

IntelligentPutty · 10/03/2016 21:54

Of course no knickers. Need to get the air in!

Pjs or not depends in my mood !

Patapouf · 10/03/2016 21:56

I can't stop laughing at fundament duchess.

OP, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I get too hot for any clothing some nights and DH insists on being toasty sweaty at night so I can't always have the window open. The sheets are changed regularly to reflect this but all body sweat is gross so sheets get dirty!
I shower every morning so I'm not too bothered about sleeping in a less than pristine, sweat pit of a bed.

Janeymoo50 · 10/03/2016 21:59

No pants or jim jam bottoms unless Auntie Ruby is visiting for the week. Wash linen every 10 days or so, shower daily, use wet wipes after the loo "when needed".

QuinionsRainbow · 10/03/2016 22:00

More naked sleepers here (the summer of 1976 has a lot to answer for), so no knickers by definition these days, but when I did wear nightclothes as a child, "going commando" was de rigeur.

paxillin · 10/03/2016 22:00

If fannys needed lots of air they would be on our foreheads. Evolution saw fit to rather tuck them away. I think knickers or not are a matter of taste, but won't help or harm really.

suspiciousofgoldfish · 10/03/2016 22:04

One of the best threads I have read.

Just for the record, I'm in the no-pants camp. DH is a pro-pants prude.

I can't say it doesn't bother me. His reasoning is "what if there is a fire?".

Pipbin · 10/03/2016 22:14

Don't you all wake up with crusty pubes?

No. Why would I?

And this made me wonder, is there a correlation between being pube free and being be-knickered at night.
Do those of us who have pubes find that they catch all the wonders that issue forth?

Oh and if the reason that some people wear knickers is due to vast quantities of vaginal gunk then why do men wear pjs?

whyistherumgone · 10/03/2016 22:22

rideme part of your labia was ripped OFF?

I'm always always cold and can't drop off to sleep unless I'm toasty warm so I'm a cotton pjs and bed socks kinda gal. I actually prefer the idea of sleeping naked but I think I would be blue with cold!

murmuration · 10/03/2016 22:58

why, sleeping naked is warmer than you would think. Night clothes must limit the body heat transfer to the airspace under the covers. I find I'm often actually hotter when I sleep in the nude than not!

blindsider · 10/03/2016 23:06

There are some very funny women on this thread, some funny ha ha and some funny peculiar...

AJ279 · 10/03/2016 23:10

YoJesse Are you me? Have I name changed without realising? Shock

Thought I would be the only inconsistent grotty one GrinGrin
