Toddlers - Dick and Fanny.
Not short for anything, apparently. British family.
Lordy.

This thread has me tickled. I have twins who have lovely names but I wish I'd given them silly middle names to amuse them with later in life. I've heard the legend of a set of twins called benson and hedges... Also my dh's hairdresser is Shauna and has a twin brother called Shaun.

Next season I'll meet you for a drink before an OF game X

On a flight manifest once:

Fu Kin Hua

(Although technically the surname comes first so his name would be Hua Fu Kin, which isn't as much fun)

Saw a gravestone in Ayrshire for 'Lettie Downie'

A few years back I taught a boy called 'Sonny Beach' and at my child's current school there are twins called 'Talent' and 'Winner'. In a way I quite like that these children will always stand out from the sea of Sophias, Olivers and Ella-Mays.

GreatFuckability · 11/03/2016 14:19

I know twins called Xena and Emma. Always thought that was a bit strange. Most common 80s name ever and Xena.

I used to work for a guy called Richard Rotter, known as Dick to his friends (we all had to call him Mr Rotter, not because he was stuck up but because it was a very old-fashioned organisation and that's what you did).

Really nice feller, but I suppose he'd have to be with a name like that.

Son also worked for the company, also Richard, known as Dickie.

You just got used to it after a while.

Pipbin · 11/03/2016 18:02

Milly is not short for Emily as anyone who has read Milly-Molly-Many knows.

I have taught a John with a brother called Jonathan.

ihearttc · 11/03/2016 18:37

I used to be a dental nurse and we had twin boys as patients called Thomas and Jeremy...called Tom and Jerry for short!

Dot33 · 11/03/2016 19:05

'I also know a little girl called Lettuce'

'Lettice is a real name.'

So funny! I'm only on page 2 and this thread is brilliant!

everdene · 11/03/2016 19:07

This is amazing. I ABSOLUTELY SWEAR (and I have said this on here before) that my cousin's other grandma is called June Moon. Excellent.

Pipbin · 11/03/2016 19:11

But Dot, Lettice is a name. Look it up.

Pipbin · 11/03/2016 19:12

Oh the people a couple of doors down have two boys called William and Harry.

Vintage45 · 11/03/2016 19:13

Everything could be a name Grin

I wouldn't call my child Lettice, to me its a bit of salad.

fluffypenguinbelly · 11/03/2016 19:16

Don't forget Everard's sister Ophelia. They are legends around this way.

Cerseirys · 11/03/2016 20:05

No, Lettice actually is a name that dates back from Tudor times. A variant of Letitia and nothing to do with salad!

SoftSheen · 11/03/2016 20:11

I know of identical twin boys called Bryan and Ryan. They are always dressed identically and have the same haircuts too.

NeedACleverNN · 11/03/2016 20:23

Let's not forget the violinist from bgt a few years ago
Lettuce Rowbothom

StrumpersPlunkett · 11/03/2016 23:43

Got told off last time I mentioned them but
We know twins called b iggles and P osie big sister called T uppence. Reasonably cute as a child but not necessarily as a grownup.
