Toddlers - Dick and Fanny.
Not short for anything, apparently. British family.
Lordy.

I know them from living in the same neighborhood. Never met the 'dad' though, but chat to the mum (ordinary name).

Ok, this is going to out me, but I saw their passports today.

Well it's a bit horrible posting on here then. With such identifiable names.

Clockworklemon · 09/03/2016 19:29

Im not making this up.. I swear that growing up in the '80's there was a brother and sister in the Aylesbury area called Everard and Ophelia Dick.

CaptainMarvelDanvers · 09/03/2016 19:29

Their parents are winding you up.

wizzler · 09/03/2016 19:29

.. and a cousin called Connie who dresses in unsuitable clothes ?

Here's Everard ... Sometimes urban myths are true!

BillSykesDog · 09/03/2016 19:31

You met them today and managed to confirm exactly what was on their birth certificates? O rilly, pray tell how u came 2 do that?

justmyview · 09/03/2016 19:31

Hmm, do they have a cousin called Pocahontas McCafferty?

lulucappuccino · 09/03/2016 19:31

Yes, I suppose it is a bit mean, me posting.

I just had to get it off my chest though!

BillSykesDog · 09/03/2016 19:33

O you just chat in passing to the Mum and she just showed you their passports. Rilly normal neighbourhood you have there.

lulucappuccino · 09/03/2016 19:33

I saw their passports today. Read the thread, BillSykes.

OP posts:
lulucappuccino · 09/03/2016 19:34

Yep, she was showing their first passports, which had just arrived.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 09/03/2016 19:34

Why did you see their passports?

LaurieFairyCake · 09/03/2016 19:35

Come on, it's perfectly believable she saw their passports when their names were put down for schools or toddler groups.

I don't think the names are that bad. But then I know loads of Dicks, and Fannys increasingly popular in my neck of the woods.

Together it's not great and very Enid Blyton

lulucappuccino · 09/03/2016 19:36

"Rilly", "u", "2" - BillSykes, Report of you're concerned about trolling.

Sparklingbrook · 09/03/2016 19:37

No LFC the passports had just arrived.

geogteach · 09/03/2016 19:37

I teach somewhere where people come on school trips, we once had a class visit with twins called Ronnie and Reggie.

Sunnybitch · 09/03/2016 19:37

Why did she show you their passports?

Zariyah · 09/03/2016 19:37

If I have twin boys, I shall call them Ronnie and Reggie.

OohMavis · 09/03/2016 19:38

Richard Head Grin

Zariyah · 09/03/2016 19:38

Or Ben and Jerry.

HennaFlare · 09/03/2016 19:38

Everard and Ophelia Dick are most definitely real. A friend of mine had to deal with their parents in a professional capacity and had to write them on legal documents. We howled.

Don't people RTFT these days? She showed OP their passports because it was their first passports and had just arrived. It isn't uncommon for people to show their friends their kids first passports!

NorbertDentressangle · 09/03/2016 19:42

Fannys increasingly popular in my neck of the woods.

Grin at the Carry On / 1970s sitcom nature of that sentence.
