The Lib Dems I think threw away their chance to reform Westminster. When they agreed to an AV referendum as opposed to any serious debate about PR options it was fairly obvious it wasn't going to happen. There has been a real change away from the two-party politics I remember from when I was young - the EU referendum could have a big impact on party lines, I can imagine lots of scenarios including UKIP withering, UKIP flourishing (especially if the result is a narrow remain), Tories and/or Labour both splitting (at the moment they both seem like at least two parties in one).

The SNP are most definitely not a socialist party. Sure they pretend to be, but any examination of their policies makes it clear they are on the right. For example, Free prescriptions and no university fees disproportionately benefit the better off. Under the SNP the numbers from lower income households attending university have fallen as have the number of college places for those who wish to gain skills in trades or lower level qualifications in eg engineering.

Their numbers at Westminster are falling due to party whip being withdrawn, 2 so far and I understand from those in the know that the 2 are soon to be 3. Let's hope the same thing happens in Holyrood.
