Yanbu but he came to Salt Lake City last year and he was fabulous! Played for three hours straight, he gave his band a break but he continued to play. But oh back in 1965, well I was only 2 then but if I had been 10 years older I would one of those idiotic girls blubbering away at their concert.

It's always struck me that gravity seems to work more intensely on Macca's face than on the rest of his body.

I love The Beatles, and had huge crushes on them as a teenager. Even though John Lennon was already long dead by then, so it was kind of strange. I watched all their anthologies, documentaries, films, listened to their albums endlessly, drew them, went to the Beatles week in Liverpool, I tried to learn the guitar with mixed results. I dreamed about them all the time. I was obsessed.

I think Macca was the most classically 'good looking'. But he looks like Penelope Wilton now (stop with the aubergine barnet!).

Can I also clear up another common MN misconception? Paul was the musically experimental, avant-garde Beatle. He spent hours listening to Stockhausen and mucking around in the studio with George Martin.

I cannot abide him now, but certainly back in the day and even the 70's/80's he was a fine looking man. I've always felt a smidgeon of pity for Heather Mills (and I know that's saying something!!!).

Also, for me no comparison- George is my favourite. I listen to his solo work whenever I need an uplift.

John was definitely no Saint. He was very damaged as a person, and I've always felt sorry for Cynthia and Julian. But, Cynthia always still loved him. It was very sad. He was being a much better father to Sean, and even beginning to reconnect with Julian, but then he was murdered. Tragic.
