To think showering often isn't good for you

I very rarely have a shower at home (helps with the cleaning and water bill too), I go the the gym / pool most days so will just have a quick dry scrub and flannel wash in the morning and a shower after workout.

Just having this conversation with a friend and she usually showers 2-3 times a day. In the morning, after workout and before bed.

I thought this sounds a bit excessive tbh.

I dont think its great for your skin to shower too much, but I do have very sensitive skin and rarely wash my face or get it wet.

If I was your friend I'd have 2 showers a day - one in the morning and one after the gym.

Maybe she does a third shower if she is on her period and uses towels, or is shagging a lot before bed?

Well yes but how many of us do the same? Most of the frequent showerers don't SEEM to care and they probably run cars and fly about the place as well. Lots of little savings in everything add up to a lot.

IMO there is nothing to get OTT about.

to repeatedly ridicule and criticise others

No I fucking haven't. I take exception to that. You want facts and figures? Try asking for some next time. Or JFGI yourself.

I have specifically said twice that in your case your showering habits are understandable. FWIW I try to practice what I preach: we are a one-car hybrid household, I care about food and clothes miles. Am I perfect? No, I live in Western civilisation with all that entails. Does that make me preachy and a raging hypocrite? I don't think so.

All I have fucking done on this thread is point out that not everyone who chooses not to shower every day does so because they're a slattern and that there are good reasons as part of a globally environmentally sensitive lifestyle not to.
