To be upset....

Booked a 3D scan for today as thought this would be a lovely thing to do as a family (dh, ds and 2 dss) at Christmas and told older step children about it a few weeks ago. One showed no interest and said at the time he would probably have plans so I let it go there and then but other ( who lives with us full time ) said yes, great, he'd be there. This morning he has clearly forgotten and announces he has a guest coming round, I was not consulted directly but pointed out to dh that guest should be put off until later in the day as a previous commitment has been made but dh decides to take the easy route and just let it go. Left feeling really crushed, dh can't see why I am upset and can't understand that he should be showing his adult sons that if you have committed to something you should see it through, even if you have forgotten once reminded you should stick with first commitment. Note my parents would have loved to have come but I didn't invite as was treating it as a thing for just the 5 of us. AIBU?

The Matrix is awesome! I so agree. I really like Keanu, too. He seems to be a good person IRL. His own child, incidentally, was born still.

Sallystyle · 27/12/2015 18:36

Sigh

So much crazy.

I don't even know where to begin.

But I'm pretty sure I know how it ends.

AliceInUnderpants · 27/12/2015 18:38

OP are you actually reading anyone's posts to you? You seem to be missing some fairly important questions.

BackInTheRealWorld · 27/12/2015 18:39

Fuck this shit. I am reporting this thread....which I don't usually do but it's making me so angry that you are being so dismissive of the trauma of losing a child...or indeed a child watching a parent die...while previously CRYING about a stepchild not watching your scan?
Massively hurtful, insensitive and insulting shite. Fuck this.

wannaBe · 27/12/2015 18:40

When I read the beginning of this thread I just thought that even if it was all bollocks there are actually these freaks people out there who book these scans with couches and big screens and popcorn and the companies who do them and make a fortune doing it and it was all a bit amusing really.

Having come back to it I see that the troll op has stooped to a new low and that actually, this thread needs deleting. Has anyone reported yet?

ghostspirit · 27/12/2015 18:40

but op the poo might be up the walls...

yeah my question about if it could be pressure on the kids/adult kids has not been replyed to. only my one about shit

shazzarooney99 · 27/12/2015 18:41

Phalenopsisgirl , i feel so sorry for your children and what you are putting them through, first off poor 11 year old has to miss a skiing trip to see you give birth to a baby that you dont care lives or dies and then he has all the worry till you give birth that you might die????? absolutely crazy!!!!!

fidel1ne · 27/12/2015 18:42

Yes, I've reported it.

ghostspirit · 27/12/2015 18:42

realworld thats what makes me think there is pressure on the kids to be at the birth. well thats if any of it is true

shazzarooney99 · 27/12/2015 18:43

BackInTheRealWorld, couldnt have said it better myself!

Micah · 27/12/2015 18:43

If anyone can pop in to the birth will you do a live weblink for me please? Does it include the postman?

Phalenopsisgirl · 27/12/2015 18:43

I am starting to see what is wrong with the world. I post something about being upset that at the request of family members I book something that I didn't really feel the need for but was to keep the peace and make up for earlier cock up and that now they are skipping out of .... And yes I am hormonal and probably not best placed to handle feeling let down.

From this people have profiled me, my family and my life choices and feel they can without any real clear insight lay into me based solely on their own narrative of MY life. To not know that it isn't possible to fully understand anyone from a few typed lines enough to say some of the stuff that people are saying to me shows a great deal of desire to try and hurt others and be as unkind as possible. Now I see how the tabloids can stay in business!

shazzarooney99 · 27/12/2015 18:44

well done fidel1ne for reporting it.

BadLad · 27/12/2015 18:47

This thread will probably be deleted, but if isn't, I'll use it to respond to people who ask me why I read this forum in future. It really is an example of utterly bizarre shit that you can't read anywhere else.

Enjolrass · 27/12/2015 18:47

You booked it for you

You are so selfish you can't see it.

Your comments about grieving are disgusting.

But again you are so selfish you can't see it.

You are so desperate for your family to treat this like the second coming, you can't see what an idiot you sound like.

Anyone who has had contact with bereaved mothers would not make discussing statements like you have

Phalenopsisgirl · 27/12/2015 18:49

Yet more poison and nonsense., shazza, 11 year old was asked if he would like grandad to take him on the ski trip but I couldn't go as it clashed with due date. HE said no thanks he wouldn't want to miss the birth, I even told him there was no guarantees it would be on that week, still "no thanks " But now I 'm forcing him to miss his trip....classic

This is batshit. Op how cold are you?! If my baby died during birth and my poor ds had to be there in the house to witness that, I'd definitely be screaming and crying why. Chances are this isn't real, I hope it isn't. You sound deluded.

Christmas brings out the crazy ones on mn. Enjoy your uber fun spectator birth sweetie.

ghostspirit · 27/12/2015 18:49

op i said a couple of times i could partly see where you are coming from. but i have said that i do believe the scan was for you. and you wanted then there not the other way round. if it was not about you then you would not have been so up set. if i had a scan like that it would be for me. it just makes me think if you were that upset over a scan what are you going to be like if you end up in the room on your own just midwife. what pressure are your children under.

AliceInUnderpants · 27/12/2015 18:50

Since you are being selective about- missing some posts, I'll repeat

Have you always felt like this, or is this liberal, rather- cold sounding, emotionless response something you've always felt?

fidel1ne · 27/12/2015 18:51

It's probably been reported by a few dozen by now.

PrincessMouse · 27/12/2015 18:53

I didn't know that about Keanu...

fidel1ne · 27/12/2015 18:54

I thought he was gay.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 27/12/2015 18:56

God they are out in force aren't they at the moment

Phalenopsisgirl · 27/12/2015 18:57

And if I respond one more time to 'I'm pressuring my kids to attend the birth' or the scan I may have to scream, no ! no one was was under any pressure to attend scan until they asked for the damn thing to be booked then I expected them to attend, unless they had a more pressing reason not to than somebody is coming swimming. No one is under pressure to attend the birth, and this has been made very very clear many many times in this thread, I simply said I would like to leave that open and not leave any family member feeling shut out behind a locked door. If this makes me self obsessed so be it.
