I think there are criminals who have been convicted of horrific offences who would get a better reception on here than OW do.

Personal attacks might be throwned upon but OW seem fair game. Cunt is a common insult to call OW and hardly anyone objects.

Yeah it is shitty to fuck another woman's bloke but no insult is off limits.

I do not believe some hardened criminals would be in receipt of the level of abuse OW get. Nor do the DH/DP's get anywhere near as much condemnation as the OW do.

I don't think OW's get worse treatment here than the cheating husband but I do think both of them are treated with disproportionate vitriol.

I understand that for the wronged party, but I don't know why others feel the need to pile in.

IME, most cheats are generally decent people who made some bad decisions, possibly at a time when they genuinely needed support/TLC and got themselves in too deep and are usually suffering themselves. Obviously there are serial philanderers too and they are despicable but that's not what most OW are.

I am currently watching my friend go through a divorce. Her cunt of an exh is trying to wriggle out of paying proper child support, while totally doung the disney dad act and his cunt of an ow is trying to play happy families with my friend's child!

Also I have seen OWs get sympathy here. The ones that usually get their asses handed to them are the ones who keep trying to justify the affair by slagging off the wife.

That's just it though Sordid. Most of these people haven't just "jumped into bed". It's far more complex than that and the culmination of a series of events over a long period of time. usually events they thought they had control over, until the time they didn't.

The people I know who have been an OW have all had low self esteem amongst other problems.

I have also seen people in bad, unhealthy relationships who have had an affair with someone they have gone on to be in a healthy, long-term relationship with.

I am only working from a very small sample of people I know, but my experiences have led me to agree with the OP and have sometimes been left very uncomfortable with diatribes against OW on here.

Homewrecking whore is my term of choice for OW. I think if you have never been cheated on, it's easier to be more objective about them. Since it happened to me, I blame my XH and her equally.

Anyone who, for example, shags a man they know has a pregnant wife and two young children is a cunt. They deserve precisely zero sympathy.

I don't think it's 'alright' but I think OW are not always the 'whores' and 'cunts' lots of people think they are by definition. It's not black and white.
