This letter of complaint was brought to my attention today.

As I rule I do not watch Jeremy Kyle as I find the man vile however his treatment of this women was disgusting and I think his show should be axed.
The author urges anyone else who feel as strongly as she does to complain to ITV, I will be sending my e-mail today.

to the show. However it is not all of it. The full show can be found on ITV player if you subscribe it is the 12\11\15 show.

Nice one Mrs D.

binkiesandpopcorns · 14/11/2015 15:49

"Jeremy told an abused woman she was a useless piece of crap. She agrees with him. She's well used to being shouted down by angry men, and says she was not harmed by his insults."
that is so sad :(

HelenaDove · 14/11/2015 15:52

Its sad and frightening.

Motherinlawsdung · 14/11/2015 15:53

Is there some way the poor woman can be shown this thread, to see that there are people here who support her (and think JK is a vile exploitative shit)?

HelenaDove · 14/11/2015 15:55

Motherinlaw i was just hoping the same thing.

I don't think so. I would like her to know that she was not to blame and only that prick thinks she was. I would also like both daughters and the other siblings to know that too.

Dear God. That's really shocking. I've just complained to Ofcom and sent this email to ITV:

I have written a complaint to Ofcom as I am extremely concerned about the treatment of the mother in this programme whose daughter was taken away and adopted.

Instead of appreciating that this was a nuanced, complex case involving domestic abuse and quite possibly reproductive coercion, Jeremy Kyle chose to blame and verbally abuse the guest. It sends a deeply worrying message to others in a similar position that this is their fault, instead of the fault of their abuser. There was no exploration of the mental and physical abuse that such victims suffer, and how difficult that makes it for a victim to know what is normal or fair, let alone to summon up the emotional and practical resources to leave.

I am appalled that ITV allowed Jeremy Kyle to treat this woman in such a way and thus to send this message to the programme’s viewers in the name of entertainment.

Aeroflotgirl · 14/11/2015 16:10

That is a totally unacceptable reply from ITV MrsD. Yes their aftercare is a joke. It does not give JK permission to treat guests like rubbish, especially those who are vulnerable, like this lady.

I've now had exactly the same email from ITV. Pathetic. I know I would love to find out how that lady truly feels. I was wondering whether a journalist might be interested.

StanSmithsChin · 14/11/2015 16:33

I have had an e-mail from MNHQ saying they will look at the thread next week and see if they can support it.

Mrs D can I send your response too please? Excellent!

JumpingJack56 · 14/11/2015 16:45

I've just stumbled across this threat and have to laugh as I too put in a complaint about this episode and I had exactly the same reply to my compliant as MrsV.

voodoolooloo · 14/11/2015 17:03

He really is a vile little man. I've watched the clip and I have complained to offcom.

kali110 · 14/11/2015 17:10

I do have stmpathy for the adopted daughter.
It doesn't matter if she doesn't remember, she's had to live with wondering why she didn't grow up with her birth family and reading how badly she was neglected.
Idon't think he has hatred towards women but anything he believes is unjust, but i didn't agree with him for this episode.
I was wondering why she had more kids till i thought about it more, and then she sAid that the husband took the pills away.
However he didn't take that into account, he should have shown compassion.
Yes she could have kept running, away but there wasn't as much support back then as there is now.
I usually like his show, but i felt that there shouldn't have been anger directed at this women.
It should have been about how there wasn't the resources that we have today and how people can get help if they are in abusive relationships.

Yep, I have received the identical email from ITV. I replied just saying nope, sorry, not good enough. Your show is exploitative and immoral, and it's presenter is a disgrace.
I don't expect another response.

imwithspud · 14/11/2015 18:00

Interesting that everyone seems to have had the same response from itv. I bet they have a folder full of generic replies where they just fill in the blanks. Shoddy. Hope offcom do something.

MySordidCakeSecret · 14/11/2015 18:18

truly digusting. Will complain to ofcom

zaalitje · 14/11/2015 20:27

I'm a long time lurker, signed up just to reply to his thread. I've been off sick from work the past coule of weeks and this has been on as background TV.

A couple of observations that have made my skin crawl: -

He constantly refers to women as 'birds'.

Should a woman get in a new relationship whilst pregnant, and have sex with the new partner she's told she's disgusting.

Single fathers who do the majority of the care for their children deserve a round of applause from the audience and everyone's "respect". A woman left to rear her child(ren) alone doesn't get the same. As if both parents are not equally responsible for raising their child.

Frequently refers to how long it's been since his wife "let him" have sex (poor woman probably needs mind bleach each time!)

StrawberryTeaLeaf · 14/11/2015 20:41

He's a shaved ape.

Garlick · 14/11/2015 20:43

He talks about his wife letting him have sex?! Blimey. The man needs basic training on consent before we worry about DA or sensitivity training Shock

Garlick · 14/11/2015 20:45

Harsh, Strawberry! What have apes ever done to you?

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 14/11/2015 20:56

I'd love that poor women to be reading this thread, so that she knows people are behind her, and she is in no way a piece of crap and she does not have to go through her life believing that.
