This letter of complaint was brought to my attention today.

As I rule I do not watch Jeremy Kyle as I find the man vile however his treatment of this women was disgusting and I think his show should be axed.
The author urges anyone else who feel as strongly as she does to complain to ITV, I will be sending my e-mail today.

to the show. However it is not all of it. The full show can be found on ITV player if you subscribe it is the 12\11\15 show.

I'm seen the show gloss over marital rape before. I can't find the clip but it was about ten years ago and an older couple were guests. The woman made mention of her partner "helping himself" and it was just treated as if he had been a bit naughty.

Anastasie · 13/11/2015 20:23

Ok have done the Ofcom one. I don't think I wrote enough. If I could have chucked a (virtual) grenade that might have expressed my feelings adequately. I despair that our complaintswill do any good. It's ITV, they can put on what they like, they don't give a shit do they?

Ratings uber alles

A complaint is still a complaint Anastasie I am sure you wrote it brilliantly.

I was an angry ball of fury when I telephoned Ofcom but the call handler was lovely and knew I was upset.

Who sponsors the JK show now?

Google says Foxy Bingo but I don't know how old that info is.

Anastasie · 13/11/2015 20:34

Jeez, sponsored by gambling-for-thickos as well then.

It just gets better.

ITV won't care if we complain to them. Ofcom have to be objective.

Thank you for this thread Stan Flowers

I saw it a few weeks ago for the first time in ages.

The women on it looked like rabbits caught in headlights and the men looked like they were playing a part they had been told to play.

Most of them were worryingly vulnerable and so far out of their depth.

It's a terrible programme - like some sort of Victorian freak show.

Very uncomfortable viewing.

Vcole87 · 13/11/2015 20:35

I used to watch jeremy kyle up until an episode where a separated couple were doing a dna test, and he was quizzing the woman over when she conceived and when she tried explaining that she conceived but how it's worked out its 2 weeks earlier from the first day of her last period hence her due date was 2 weeks earlier than he could work it out, he called her a liar and told her to stop talking rubbish!! This man has children, surely after supporting his ex's through pregnancy he would know these things??! Same as I've lost count the times he's told women they're wrong for not putting dad's names on birth certificates because the dad's haven't been present! He clearly hasn't got a clue what he's talking about, he just repeats himself. I don't agree at all with how he handled this lady, she could barely get a word out to explain anything to her daughter. Why was she taken on the show for that? I hope the daughter watches it back and is ashamed of what was bought on this woman. That's coming from someone who was also adopted and neglected, and have only ever known the family I have, my mum wasn't in this lady's situation, she was just selfish but I still wouldn't drag her on jezza to be subjected to this! I think this bloke makes himself look a complete twat most of the time, bring back trisha!

The strange thing is if this poor woman had appeared on one of his 'serious' shows about being a survivor of abuse he would have been fawning all over her and telling her how brave she was. But sadly for her she had been cast as the 'baddie' for yesterday's show. He has his guests pre determined as villains, heroes and the voice of reason and sticks to that no matter what they say. He isn't interested in listening and learning from his guests, they are only there as objects for JK to rant at because he loves the sound of his own voice but yelling at an empty stage would be too weird.

BertieBotts · 13/11/2015 20:48

I think that the estranged daughter will have been conned into thinking that he would be more reasonable. Perhaps as a viewer some of his other episodes come across as straight talking, rather than bullying twat. I actually thought that the estranged daughter looked extremely uncomfortable when Jeremy was talking over her mother and not letting her finish her sentences. I think that she didn't expect it to be that vitriolic. She looked like she really wanted to hear the answer to her Qs but JK kept cutting across and not letting her finish.

Most likely she was put in touch with the show either through a direct phone call - perhaps via an agency she was working with - or a well meaning but misguided friend suggested it and she phoned up.

Apparently, the production team are really good at convincing the participants that they will have a chance to say their piece. The ED was obviously quite angry and hurt at the beginning, which was fair, she didn't have the full story, but she'd also clearly been riled up and Jeremy knew exactly what to say to spark the anger rather than curiosity - which appears to be the MO of the show, in order to create more drama. It wouldn't be as "crazy" if they just had nice gentle heart to hearts and sorted everything out. It has to be nasty and bullying and confrontational.

Sad. Really sad and disgusting that this is considered entertainment.

I've just looked at the show's FB page. There are a lot of fans. Why can't people see through this shit and see what a vile idiot he is and how out of order this show is?

Scoopmuckdizzy · 13/11/2015 21:32

That is disgraceful.

Seriouslyffs · 13/11/2015 21:33

There was a an article a while back exposing the tactics. They put people up in hotels, get them drunk and tired and wind them up before they go on, 'she says x about you, he called you a bitch'etc. it's the modern equivalent of Bedlam.

PlummyBrummy · 13/11/2015 21:43

Marina Hyde wrote a brilliant article on his ENORMOUS hypocrisy for the Guardian quite recently.

Totallyblurred · 13/11/2015 21:52

I watched a clip on facebook a while back shouting down at the audience after them all laughing about a young lad having to jump from a balcony from his abusive girlfriend.
So he believes DV is unacceptable when it's a man suffering??
I was in an abusive relationship for 5 years, this made me feel sick to my stomach.

Rachel0Greep · 13/11/2015 22:02

Disgusting stuff! Cannot abide him, or his show.

Thisismyfirsttime · 13/11/2015 22:35

It's quite well known that the production staff who are assigned to each guest egg them on and tell them they're in the right, of course they are, everyone will see through the other party etc etc and then they get on stage and if JK dislikes them/ their stance they get torn to shreds with no idea it was coming.
I watched JK in a dipping in and out way until a few years ago when there was a young girl on and the father of her child was raising the baby and she was saying she should have them back. He ripped her to shreds, she was telling him she'd suffered bad PND, was suicidal and had been in treatment since leaving the child with dad because at the time she thought it was best. And that cunt still tore her to bits, all that 'WHAT KIND OF MOTHER WOULD XYZ' bullshit. I didn't have children then and only knew the basics about PND and the ins and outs of childrearing but it still made me so angry how he treated her.

RebootYourEngine · 13/11/2015 23:30

I have complained to ofcom. Just away to complain to itv.

Jeremy kyle really is a vile bastard isnt he.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 13/11/2015 23:43

Thanks for the link Stan, but I had to turn it off. My veins were coming out of my neck and steam was coming from my ears.!
Why did she keep having kids, did he ask the man who got her pregnant and fucking abused her. I Don't think so!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
He's nothing but a closed minded cunting twatting bully. High time he was made accountable. God I despise detest loathe bullies.

RebootYourEngine · 13/11/2015 23:46

I have also complained to itv.

Djelibeyb · 13/11/2015 23:51

Read the description. Won't watch the clip as I'm not giving that utter twat any views.
